One main reason you fear accepting fear is because you are “ashamed” of being afraid. You feel “bad” about being scared.

this is exactly what I was thinking, an insight... why is it so hard to admit it? what am I afraid if I admit it? what would happen if I do? and the answer was.... nothing!

It makes me a little sad though...to think "I can't do this"🙁

This is why you’ll go in loops with these videos and never find the answer. Yes you’re afraid. Yes it might be true you can’t do it. But “when there’s a will there’s a way”, so this talk should’ve lead to willpower and gaining knowledge so you CAN do it. Knowledge eliminates fear, not much else does.

@matthewalkman386 Ego driven solution. Mind fighting with itself in order to kill or escape fear. Sometimes works which adds on to the illusion of control, or sometimes it doesn't work which brings more suffering. I'm with Adya on this one. Surrendering to what is always opens up an opportunity to intimately experience the infinite, plus the opportunity for a big (or small) part of the ego dropping off.

@@windmonk3233 I have OCD, and the fear can be insidious as it can cause pathological doubt, which can undermine my will to practice. And it does. It is only harder because my mind hasn't budged in 17 years of practice, working with great healers, neurofeedback, other methods. All severely complicated by a hellish benzodiazepine dependency. Then I got intravenous therapy to get off the benzos, but the fear remains. Until I found psychedelics, and was appalled at the sheer amount of conditioning and terror buried in my subconscious. Sheets of terror blowing off of me. and yet still, no shift.

Get One with 2:40 ..."I can't do this"...including feeling in body by giving it infinite space non agitation, then not trapped in 12:20 ...cyclic catch 22 can't get out of the situation...

Adyashanti is great for inspiration, not so good for what you actually DO. For that you need more technical teachers.

Why go to war with a thought?
@suedaneem1128
@suedaneem1128 7 жыл бұрын
gutohssb It's an understandable reaction, especially in a culture where people are accustomed to being at war with something or another. People feel they need to *overcome* their thoughts and thus triumph over them and do battle with them when they simply need to watch them silently.

@@suedaneem1128 Yes, I agree. It's in their karmic conditioning. Very difficult to see through it, but once they do, it will be a lot more easier to just let it be.

@@windmonk3233 Very difficult indeed. The difficulty of this can be undersold by Adyashanti, whose own spiritual path unfolded with astonishing ease compared to what most of us have endured.
