gokumadara (I play Chun, not Ryu, which is why I'm complaining about the MU) Yes, Chun has the advantage if the Ryu stays fullscreen or at mid-range. But specifically, I'm referring to Ryu's damage potential on getting a hit. At 20:45 Cojiro manages a good focus and sweep pressure, but more than loses the lead when he picks the wrong anti-air (or input error). Yes, if you choose the right anti-air poke every time and manage to avoid focus crumple on her long range pokes, you can keep them out. I just don't see her having the advantage when you have to take those big risks to deal little bits of damage, whereas a big risk with Ryu can result in big damage. Add this to the fact that she has to use EX meter to squeeze out a bit more damage via legs, or make EX SBK a decent (but not foolproof) anti-air and I just think Ryu has better return on each meter he spends, whether it's EX Hadouken, EX Shoryu, or FADC combo extend or Ultra. Most of the matches that Daigo's winning here are clearly him outplaying Cojiro, not the matchup being bad, it's true. But you can't deny when Cojiro makes a mistake, it's pretty dire compared to when Daigo makes a mistake and Chun's punishes are weak/impossible.

Daigo is a master player for sure. It's always so pleasing to see him win with these simple moves and his favourite 5-hit combo. It only proves once again that Street Fighter is a game where when to hit is much more important than how to hit - and that's why we love it.

I think Daigo's magic comes from the fact that he has no rhythm to be taken advantage of. He plays so effectively random and unexpected, his rivals can't find a reliable way to expose his play. I think we are seeing the ultimate Ryu here fellas.

I think you're right, Jokeritu. Take a look at his match against Gamerbee during Dreamhack Winter 2013. Throwing 3 Fierce Shoryuken in a row is quite random, but because it's Daigo, it actually works.

Hmm, I think the game looks a lot better in 4:3 format. The characters don't look so huge in comparison to the screen. Reminds me of the older SF games.

I hate how people complain about match ups and such, it's based on how the player utilizes that character or how they react in a certain situation, some people think match ups or tiers is everything but that's not the case when fighting professionals who adapt and change tactics to how the player is thinking, ppl say all daigo does is turtle and throw hadokens if that's the case then why don't you do it and try to be top dog, daigo and other top street fighter players play the game in a ever changing tactics, there isn't one tactic that is Unbeatable and in this video, it shows how versatile daigo is and he is unpredictable not because of the match up but on that note if you can read your opponents it won't matter which character you use because you will have a counter for everything

Daigo relies alot on grabs, i guess that is one of his strenghts, would make hin a true master if he did not rely much on grabs but good matches

Isn't all dp type characters getting nerfed especially when dp is blocked after focus dash canceling?! Negative two or three frames or something. Not sure if that's legit or not! So doing a dp on block then dash canceling is gonna be pretty risky if you can get punished after! A serious nerf if you ask me!

Johnnie Wood Do you know what balanced means? This is what capcom try to achieve when they start balancing the game. It doesn't mean over powered. Ryu might not have many bad match ups, but he doesnt have many great ones either. He is balanced!

dude I cant for the life of me get tenshoukyaku to come out on a ps3 controller with chun its soo freakin difficult I know all her other combos and can do them consistenly but that one...... im not even that bad of a player with her I have like 9000 bp online but just that one combo.....SOMEBODY HELP ME
