Did you ever want to automate the smeltery from Tinkers Construct? And do it with Applied Energistics 2? Then follow this tutorial video and make sure to read the description for additional details :)

Well, mostly you don't need to automate like that but for learning purposes and improve your automation skill with AE2 this tutorial is more than useful :)

@@TomasMisura That's why I never hesitate to do this kind of video, even if it's not useful for almost anyone it could still be educational or interesting :)

THANK YOU for this. working on finishing sevtech and needed a way to automate modularium and invar. it worked flawlessly.

Happy to hear it is useful, I haven't had any particular use for this build myself in a normal world. Thank you :)

by the way, you may have have to make it slightly bigger, but to avoid the hopper you could have added in seared chutes. they allow for inputting items into the smeltery and you can have multiple ones and directly connect to the chute. the chute also allows queuing up more items than the slots on the controller.

I always find these AE2 videos really helpful. One problem I find with tinkers is the enderio conduits keep disconnecting, so maybe I will try this setup. Thanks!

To save a bit on channels, if you want to cast multiple things from the same metal (say, ingots, but also gears if your pack makes you use TiCon to make gears/makes that an especially efficient method), you could connect one fluid import bus to multiple fluid storage buses and multiple casting tables, right?

I think if we have more than 1 processor unit, this system won't work (because when we start crafts for example of copper and tin, we would get bronze, and crafts won't complete). Can we somehow fix this problem? I have some ideas, for example we can build many smelteries. Or we can make this as sub ME network with this own crafts, and then run the cable to our main crafting room. But I think that is not very good solutions and I want to listen your opinion about this problem

personally with AE2 and TC together i would instead create several 8-block smelters (4x4x3 outside) and dedicate each one to each kind of metal so that mixing never occurs. besides that you could send all the control signals to a redstone circut that only allows compatible crafting events, but the logic quickly grows beyond the value of using more smelters
@therealtkh3 жыл бұрын
I hear you. A few small smelteries where no recipes has the same ingredients would absolutely make things easier and not even require a level emitter. I think that's a great idea for improvement and might deserve a video of its own! I'll do some testing and we'll see how it goes :)

this is a great solution in my opinion. plus, for lower tier recipes in later versions post 1.16, you can use a melter and fuel tank instead of a whole smeltery. i think that would cut down on the building cost and space a good bit

i dont know if youll read or see this, but any chnace you could make a 1.18.2 version? i cant figure it out
@therealtkh Жыл бұрын
Sorry, this is a late answer, but I expect the build to be the same except for that the Interface will be exchanged for a Pattern Provider which was introduced for 1.16 or something. It has replaced the Inteface when it comes to handlig auto-crafting and patterns, but to receive the items after crafting the Interface should still work. I didn't try it in different versions but Pattern Provider can also receive items back into the network.

its ok no worries, but anyways, i tried replicating your build uisng the pattern provider block, and idk if i did something wrong or not(im not the sharpist knife in the drawer), but the only way i could replicate it, was by putting the pattern provider onto a chest which then required me to use either a hopper or another "item transfer" tube mod, and through my testing i somehow made an auto smelting duplication machine(idk how 🤣 it would take the ore, give me the iron ingot, and the ore would still be in the chest that i mentioned before 🤣) @@therealtkh but thank you for taking your time to respond to me 🙏

I never even think about this, mainly because there's better and faster way to process stuff. I really hate that tinker construct doesn't have a way to not mix the molten stuff. And tinker steelworks are so much annoying and expensive to set up for measly gain and slower processing (unless you work on 8 multiplication, so you could cast it as 2 block)
@therealtkh3 жыл бұрын
I know there are probably "better" ways to do this in most packs, but in case some pack limits you to use smeltery for everything, or don't have certain mods, it might come in handy :)
