But in reality that’s how some people are, some talk about getting better but never put in the work and others do practice ( sports, racing, whatever) but just never get to the next level of skill. In their case just going out and trying to drive faster isn’t going to get them anywhere without a mentor to help turn experience into skill and keep them improving. THAT is what Bunta and later Ryosuki (SP?) were able to provide for Takumi which in addition to whatever natural talent he had pushed him to the level he was by season 5.

@@jakesnakemate2929 It's because of the story writer and the director that doesn't care about the side characters developments smh, if I was to create the story, I would focus mostly on the team leader leveling up everyday and so on by challenging himself with unknown drivers or 1v1 with his own teammates and ect. It's sad to not see the Speedstars not racing for there own home turf.

​​@@sparrowltI'd imagine it sounding more like a high-performance SOHC engine from the 60s like the U20 used in Peter Brock's Datsun 510. Itsuki should've just gotten a 4A-GZE tbh, idk what their angle was trying to soup up an econobox engine like the 3A-U or how they were able to get a bolt-on turbo to work with it for that matter. Heck even a 4E-FTE could work.

@@possibly8180 In the manga/anime he was pretty much scammed or was dumb enough to buy only on the basis it was a Levin GT.. he was even shocked when he found out he had a 3A-U instead of a 4A-GE wich is pretty dumb f (did he even looked bellow the bonet when he bought it?). Turbo kits there were plenty in japan back in the day for almost every engine .. you could turbo almost any middle to high performance engine there was out there .. the 3A-U was carburated so it was a bit simpler as it needed to be tuned by hand (wich is hard enought to do) but didnt had ECU in the way
