Toyota's efforts to respect the history of the automobile, the technological improvements it has made, and the affection of people are wonderful. It is different from countries that sell EVs commercially irresponsibly.

The fact they put a manual gearbox in the EV blows my mind!
I think the problem with silent engine is that people outside can't hear it that well. I personally would love a silent engine for myself (as I'm hearing it inside), but I understand that for driver awareness, sound helps so much. If the road gone silent, people need to rely more on their sight (and the tech in their car) to be aware of their surrounding. In the future though, I believe we as community could adapt to that change. A more peaceful / silent environment is more healthy afterall. Sorry for replying in English, I can't speak Japanese.

This is the limit of Japanese mindset And what if your neighbours want to hear a 4AGE ?
Would love full english subtitles! Nice projects, toyota still gives hope for us

The question is mainly about desogning a right gearbox for new vehicles. At least someone tries taking the damn, even only come just four gears, not bad.
"alot of choice" you say as it's all electric and makes washing machine noises

The charm of the car is not only the sound. Style, convenience and "Fun to Drive" are also attractive. People have accepted change gradually over the 200+ year history of cars, so they will continue to love cars as well.
