I have the 24" SL Challenger 30cal, & this Challenger Bullpup 32" 30cal on the way. This dirty 30, is going to destroy coyotes out to 150-200 yards w/NSA 65gr Slug's. I just don't know which can to run, my Sumo or Ronin? I'm a little concerned with barrel sag.

@@johnmajka5404 I own several AEAs and I just ordered the Bullpup Challenger "Big 9" with the high powered valve assembly. Suppose to be putting over twice the FPE "400 FPE" of the regular bullpup. You shoulda waited and got one of these instead. TWICE the power and I guarantee it's going to be extremely accurately too.

Don't listen to Bert Safor. I have the AEA Challenger 24" 30 cal Standard Length rifle, it's the 24" barrel version a $100 cheaper than the bullpup, It's a amazing airgun. I'm definitely not giving a fake comment. He obviously has never shot one, or he would be singing it's praises.

The 30 long barrel is sweet. Wish you put it on full power for the chrony and shoot some slugs! I've seen people get close to 200 FPE out of that. It performs almost as well as the 357 Challenger in my collection.

JDP...I do 165 FPE with 68 gr slugs...I keep reminding myself that this is "only" a .30 caliber...I own a few 30's (6), and the only one that hits harder than this one is my AF Texan .308 (.30)

I purchased these when they first came out. Powerful cost efficient air rifles. I later found out that they were miss stamped with 3600psi on them. The AEA air gun people came out with a video saying this. They actually have a 4500psi rating instead !!! They were tested to like 17 or 18,000 burst pressure on the air tubes cylcled many times before they burst! So yeah, these air rifles are killer for medium to medium large game or pests. Super Awsome for minimum cost. Nice shooting er 1721! Ed the professional backyard sniper man 😎✌

That's the Challenger Pro, 115-118 FPE 24". There is the long barrel version and you can add a Huma regulator to this one reviewed here.

Anyway of getting a regulator on this beast? Not being regulated was a turn off for me..though I admit I’m new to the sport with a Hatsan AT44 in .25 I’ve been shooting for 2 years. I’ll be getting a regulator once I chrony the thing. And I told myself my next rifle would have to be a reguLated one.

I own several AEA guns and every one of them are very accurate. I just ordered the new side lever cocking 35 cal Challenger "Big 9" with the high powered valve assembly. Suppose to be putting out upwards of 400 FPE in 35 and around 600 FPE in 45 and 50 cal. It is easily upgradable to the 45 and also 50 cal by just simply swapping out the barrels. A bit of info to you guys. All Challenger guns are now recommended to be filled to 4500 psi. The new ones have the fill limit printed on the side changed to 4500 psi but Binn Tac released a video explaining that ALL Challenger series no matter if it is the older ones or the new ones they all can be filled to 4500 psi. while not experiencing any valve lock. I would really like to see your review on one of these. Happy shooting guys

Nice video Rick. I got that exact gun about 2 weeks ago. I’m like you I’m not much of a Bullpup fan,but after shooting it you get use to it. And yea it has the power. I just shot some 90 grain avs slugs at 50 and 100 yards a little bit ago on full power, 1028 FPS with 210 foot pounds. It’s a hunter. And it’s pretty accurate. Not hole after hole at 100 but very close together. Like you I’m interested in the 357 now that I know what the gun will do.

357 maxes out around 230 FPE with 132 grain slugs so you're pretty close. I have a 357 and considered buying a .30 to go along with it! If there is a long barrel 357 now I'm sure that's a different story tho... I have the regular SL

JDP I haven’t seen them show the long barrel 357 like my 30 yet, they all been the standard 24 inch. They are coming out with a 50 call but I don’t know what the ballistics are on it yet. It also has the standard barrel. At least the one I seen them advertise.

I have the standard rifle with 32" barrel. I can swap from 45gr pellets to 45gr FX hybrid slugs with no change in POI.....it is crazy accurate. Friend of mine made me a barrel band for it as I have the DonnyFL Emperor on it for close to home shooting and it actually tightened the groups up nicely. Power wheel at the 10oclock position works nicely for the lighter pellets and slugs + doesn't wake up the neighbors. Good video Rick and Ryan.

WoW 😳 I'm glad I've waited to jump in the PCP air rifle I was looking at some other bull pup rifles in the last two days. This is quite an eye opened. What is this going to do to the competition price wise?😳 You are 1 of the if the best shooter with PCP air rifles. You seem kinda hesitant to really push this to its limits? FX are they seeing this? Hatsan, air tx ect... What's their reactions? What will this do to air gun pricing in your opinion? I'll be looking and waiting for reactions. I how they do not raise the prices and start what I hope will trend down prices on all air guns to where they should have never gone too. I'm also learning more about how to build and what is actually going into making these guns. This is at this time eye opening at best but is I hope a change for the better in manufacturing as well as pricing here in out.

@@catherineharris4746 I have a few cheaper guns and a FX impact m3. It’s not hype. Rifles like the impact will put pellets hole for 60 rounds. That’s not to say my cheaper air rifles are not great fun… and plenty accurate.. but you don’t see $500 guns winning benchrest competitions for a reason.. because they can’t. They simple can not hang at that level. But they are plenty fine for your average shooter. I go to the gun range with my impact and I can’t tell you how many times I look behind me and will have 4-5 guys watching me shoot groups that they never have. They are that good. But only if YOU are that good.

A thirty two inch barrel rifle that still fits in the cab of the truck! Finally, I have a reason to like a bull pup. I’m pretty darn impressed. If I’m not mistaken ,on full power, it’s more powerful than a .22 LR rimfire. You gotta try slugs!

Macabespeed shot an 85gr slug from his, at around 208 ft lb! Which is low-average 38 special muzzle energy. But I believe that this large a projectile requires hand, single loading, because it doesn’t fit in the magazine.

Standard velocity 22 lr is actually around the same muzzle energy as the 24” .30 challenger, but the pellet gun has 5-10gr more inertia than standard velocity 22lr 40gr. 22lr high velocity and hyper velocity rounds reach the stated muzzle energy of the 32” .30 with 50gr pellets. But as soon as you start lobbing heavier slugs, it immediately outclasses the 22 lr, ballistically.

I got my .30 cal w/ 32" barrel this morning.. I shot it 3 times so far and just too loud to shoot anymore until my moderator gets here...I really like it a lot.. onlyest thing I don't like is the cocking pressure.. It really does take a lot of strength...I will find a solution to that. I laid a stack of boards on the floor .. a 2x4 & 2 other boards 3/4" thick.. 2x4 was on top and pellet went thru that and thru the next 3/4 inch and buried itself in the last one..OH YEAH! That's some power for ya.

I just bought this exact same bullpup rifle recently and it even came with the DonnyFL. This gun is so much more impressive when you are actually holding it in your hands then you can begin to imagine from just watching a video. Having said that, EXCELLENT video Sir! :-) The build, fit and finish is amazing and is equal to guns that are much more expensive. Powerful doesn't even begin to describe what this rifle puts out in performance. I would not hesitate one second to buy other AEA products. I will probably get the .357 bullpup later but first, I have to acquire the Hatsan .50 cal Piledriver for my collection lol.

Absolutelyyyyyyy positively want to see you do a 2 gun video on the challenger. (The reason I say that is I’m still in the market for a 50 cal but I can’t get past the performance of the Air Force .457). They now have a challenger in 50 and what the are calling a 45. I’ve decided that I’m purchasing one of the 2 but havent seem any accuracy tests on either as of yet. YOU ARE THE MAN FOR THE JOB!😎. Thanks for another great video! One last question though. Are you able to install a sling on any of these AEA bullpups?

They also offer that same "High powered" Challenger in 35 cal too. Exact same valve assembly as the 45 and 50. I ordered one this morning. $699 shipped. The stocks have no studs for a sling but you certainly can add your own.
