My Dad was a Driver / Mechanic on these during his call up 1947 -48. Served in an AA battery in Libya and Egypt. He would love to see the old girl. He could give some pointers to in service operations, towing, winching etc. If it’s on show, when and where ? But be quick, he’s 95. Not much of this knowledge was ever written down.

I was walking out of town a couple of months ago and two Matadors chugged past- they had mid-60s civilian registrations which would date when they were sold on by the military. Good to see them but they had no ownership identities painted on them but they looked to be in excellent order.

@@NickRatnieks Possibly ex showman vehicles or timber tractors?
@NickRatnieksАй бұрын
@@67Burwood They were tidy but not in particularly smart- unlike showman vehicles and no ownership shown. They may have once been used in the forestry business as they did not have military bodies like your Matador- just flat bed layout.

You could put a canopie over it, and it could be built on the cheap, congratulations on your find, nothing will ever be made like this again, and future generations will benefit from it's physical presence as opposed to pictures found in books or online

@@davidjackson563 Projects of this size can take years to complete, it’s a hobby done in my spare time, unfortunately your not going to see massive changes on a weekly basis, I keep buying my lottery tickets to retire early but no luck so far, the videos have quickly been done during the evenings when I get home from work just to keep viewers interested in the project until I can actually get some time to work on it. If you’re interested you can go on HMVF and type in “Fordson WOT6 “ to see my last project. Please be patient and keep watching, it will happen.
