Maybe the oil pump is dry due to standing. May need to prime it before going further. Or at least check inside the rocker box for signs of oil. The you know its a gauge issue. But dont crank too much till you know theres oil pressure. The bearings dont like running dry.

I suppose you know that sometimes you have to bleed air out of the gauge?

Much easier with an old low compression petrol GMC 270, even with the plugs in. 50psi in no time. Persevere and you will get there. On another subject. I believe Denmark used WOT6 trucks after the War. Just a thought for spares, before you have to have the pinion re-manufactured.
