Very good machine and review. Love your comments about running an empty boil wash at 95. That really does help to clean out the machine and keep it smelling nice and fresh. I call that a maintenance wash and doing that once every month as well as leaving the door open will prevent any mould from building up. Thank you for reviewing the machine.

Yeah... only the damned door won't stay slightly open but goes back to a 90 degree angle so it is always in the way unless of course you tape it fully open to the cabinets...

Very good review- the only thing i would add to the "time to end" counter,- the time to end constantly adjusts as the washer weights the load and adjusts water, time and energy consumption accordingly. It then updates the timer

Agreed, I thought I had said that in the video but may be not. I had read a complaint about that feature from an unhappy which reader. It doesn't concern us as the washer is mainly used overnight. I can also confirm that Iron dry and cupboard dry are exactly that and both settings work perfectly. This was another issue according to a Which member.

I've heard that these machines can weigh the load when you have the door open? . There are 3 'bars' on the screen and from what I read, these bars fill as you add clothing to the drum. I have the 3 bars, but nothing happens when I add items to the washer. My model is Aeg l87695wd... Does yours weigh the load?.

It weighs the load but you can't see it. The screen shows you the maximum time for a wash or wash-dry cycle for that type of material at full weight and a few minutes after the start of the programme it readjusts the time. E.g. synthetic wash at 40oC with drying: machine indicated 6h52m but lasted only 4h20.

I bought this machine a month ago but the door won't stay put where I want it to stay put but swings on its own and stops at its own angle. This is so annoying because it makes it hard to load/unload and it stops me having the door open to let the machine dry after a wash, so it is already smelling. Another bad point is that it makes much more noise than my old machine but this noise is at a different pitch which is more annoying to my ears. So it may be considered quiet, but it isn't really. Anyone interested in it, please note it has a 95o wash for cottons or 60oC downwards - nothing in between for those who want their clothes hygienic but not boiled. A final point is that this machine beeps at you when the programme ends and beeps again, and again and again, a set of four beeps I think. I tried to stop it beeping but it continues and the engineer said 'this is the way it is'. Again, for my ears, this is very annoying because it is at a high pitch. Lucky I don't have a dog at home or he would be howling with pain every time the machine ends a cycle.

Mine failed after 2 years and 4 months too! Put a new main circuit board in, had another failure two month later!
