Love the Aegis Wiz! Looks gorgeous. I've sadly stepped back from Starfield because of bugs driving me up the wall. 3 level 100 characters not achieving the achievement kinda did me in. The Basilisk is still my favourite of yours, but this one is also right up there. I really like that all your ships are so different to each other. I'm slowly making my way to NG+10 so I can finally settle down and make myself a Vytinium Fuel Rod manufacturing facility. Gotta admit, chasing those sparkly lens flares in the temples is soul-destroyingly boring, but I am enjoying your ship designs along the way. Looking forward to building my (modified) Basilisk again when I'm done. With any luck there will be an update in the mean time which fixes the unreliable cargo links, otherwise I might tear my hair out, with trying to automate Vytinium Fuel Rod production. Like you, I have been trying to get an automated vy fuel rod operation going, and I think I have found a way to accomplish it with only 6 outposts, meaning I’ll be able to then ship the fuel rods to my home base in a different system. I’ll be getting that guide out in one of my next few releases. If you’d rather avoid pulling more of hair out trying to figure out, as I have, hang tight and hopefully I can help you with that. @@WizeOldWizard Oh, I almost forgot to say, a commemorative rebuild of the Basilisk would be awesome! I kept a save of my modified version so I could rebuild it in my retirement playthrough, which I hope I can keep everything in… but I'd love to see how you evolve it. So much of my time invested in this game really depends on Bethesda fixing that dynamic form ID issue which destroys your savegame by bloating it out, unless you do another NG+ run - I want to be able to retire and do all the side quests, collect all the legendaries, build all the outposts… but right now, that could bloat out your savegame and make it unusable.

@@dexarok I will definitely do my best to help everyone find the locations more easily, but it will still require some hunting by those that want to get it running. I think the biggest struggle is choosing the correct planets and how to move a single resource through each cargo link and get everything to one spot. Some planets don't have helium either so that has to be moved on separate links. It is the most resource-hungry manufacturable item though, so once you complete this, anything else will be simple, relatively.

Thank you very much! I have made use of some flip glitching in a few select places on other builds, but I don’t want to rely on those methods as they could get patched. I’ll be getting into modded builds pretty soon though, as mods will eventually be available on consoles and due to the lack of new content, I’m running out of original design ideas with the limited selection of parts currently available. Really appreciate your support and engagement! The Vulcan is the next ship build, coming soon. I’m going to wait to complete the voiceover for my upcoming videos until my audio upgrades arrive. That should help me increase my production quality and maybe even decrease my editing time.

if you are going to use turrets as a defense, you need to put some facing the sides as well. you can have 4 of them, and they will work well when you are dogfighting like that

You are absolutely right, and if I was serious about using them I would do just that. To be completely frank, I don’t intend to use them. The inclusion of turrets was mostly to fit with lore, although I didn’t hate the second loadout that I tested in the video. But, with Hellfires, the turrets just did not work for me. I’m an analog clock/ manual transmission kind of guy so I’ll choose when and where to shoot, especially considering the turrets are not nearly as accurate.

Love this ship. Not a Matrix fan, but got an immediate Attack Submarine vibe from this, so the HopeTech habs, etc. make sense. I did get extraneous ladders😭😂; I put the docker in the wrong place first. Yet, the ladders spawned clustered, so for a submarine vibe they made sense. After watching the cannon loadout video, gotta switch! The turrets were indeed ok, but not as devastating as the cannons appear. And the re-worked rear has more of a sleek, submarine feel.

That is by far the baddest ship I've seen yet! (Not bad meaning bad, but bad meaning good!) My current pet ship is a Star Trek TNG Borg cube inspired ship, but it's done in a mix of primary colors and I call it the Borg Lego Brick. It's 6 decks by 4x6 and more or less hollow in the core. Early iterations had to be flown in third-person because the cockpit was hidden inside, but now I use an S-E Kon-tiki bridge on top of the "brick".

Hover over a part and press LB. You can use RB to individually select multiple parts too, very helpful for moving things out of the way or painting certain parts together as groups.

Best engines per KZbinr ShipTechnician in no particular order: SAE-5660. Dunn-71, SAE-4330, SAE-5550,and Poseidon DT-230. One of them might be one that I spotted after seeing the stats on them laid out, or maybe not. Go check his vid Best Engines after watching this. I heavily modified a Kepler R to have 90 mobility, 8 crew, 5500 cargo, Vanguard weapons and shield using mostly Stroud parts although it doesn't look like much of a Kepler anymore! I'm at level 42. I'm very happy with it. Much credit to ShipTechnician and Wize Old Wizard for the advice, tips and testing! Thanks!

Man what a coincidence, I watched that video a few days ago. The way he tested everything was spot-on and the information is so valuable for the ship building community. I think the Dunn-71’s got an honorable mention because they have the highest top boost speed, and I don’t think any Poseidon’s made the list in any way. In class A the SA 4330’s can haul the most cargo, but the WD 3015’s are the quickest engines and have a 180 base top cruise speed. In class B the SAE 5660’s are best, but I have found they can only haul marginally more cargo than those 4330’s (Aetos at 2600 cargo compared to Aegis at 3010). Then in class C, the 6830’s reign supreme because they still give you the highest hauling capacity while maintaining 100 mobility. They are extremely heavy though, making direction changes take a while. So basically, pick the best Slayton engine in any class, unless you’re looking for raw speed, then the WD 3015’s are the ticket. I also redesigned the Kepler R, and named it the Citadel. It’s got 7,000 cargo and 96 mobility. Check it out! Thank you for watching!

@dexarok Amelia Earhart and Omari Hassan are the two you need as an alternative to Sam. Same speed buff, and Omari gives you the free power pip. His is just for your shield.

I haven’t used class B engines for any build yet and they do have pretty limited hauling ability. It was a new challenge, and a class C reactor would have drastically reduced the cargo that I’d be able to equip. This reactor still has 39 power, you’re not sacrificing much.

I’m with you man, turrets are not my favorite. Unless you’re flying a ship like Bristleback, you’re just sacrificing your own damage potential. I’ve seen a lot of posts and comments about how turrets “don’t fire”. They do, it’s just that the camera is too close to the ship to see the beams unless they are firing forward. Not sure if you watched the whole video, but I chose the PBO/Obliterator/Hellfire loadout in the end. Thanks to this ship, I now use the same loadout on every ship except for the Citadel, and only because it’s already at the module limit.

@@WizeOldWizard I watched Ship Technicians video on ship parts and after realizing they had a power of 2 so i could equip six of the Hellfire Auto Cannon !!! Put them on the Aegis and they rock. Now I use the Particle beams from range and once in dogfight range unleash the Hellfires !! Aegis build is sweet and fun.. I wish this game had stuff where you could attach a fighter like the Sycthe onto the Citadel.. and get into it for dogfights

@shanehall8447 yeah man I literally have that loadout on every ship that has the module slots, I even built the Vulcan around this loadout to make sure I had the available module slots for all the guns. Having deployable fighters will hopefully happen if we get DLC that introduces capitol ship building, ones that can’t land. We’d HAVE to have something to use to land on planets since the 80m ships are the largest that can land on surface. Fingers crossed!

They can spawn orbiting literally any planet. They also move to different locations on occasion, but once you locate one you get a quest in your log that you can use to find them again. Thanks for watching again!

Great to see a new ship. I’d just built the SCYTHE and then they updated the game and it just kept crashing over and over. I just uninstalled the game as it was unplayable after the update. Any ideas if they fixed the crashing bug in the series S?

As far as I can tell they are working on it, but I don’t know if it’s been ironed out all the way yet. I play on PC, and the game runs really well for me, rarely crashing especially lately. I feel for the console players that are having the opposite experience, and that hurts my channel too. Maybe one of you console players out there can offer your recent experience with the game to better answer this question… Either way, thanks for watching!

Oh i have a question, how did you get the third person view on the ship to (what looks like) move independently around the ship while flying in space?

It works in first and third person, but if you hold down the button that switches views it puts you in ‘free-look’ mode. In the cockpit you can just look around as if you’re moving your head, and in third-person it gives you that orbital viewing ability. Now when I film the turntable shots for the requirements section in my build guides, I use the orbital camera in photo mode.

Oh, just as a total side note… I wanted to put this idea somewhere on the internet, and this is as good a spot as any. How much would you like to have a 1x1 hab with a small motorcycle in it? … Like the one Tom Cruise rides in Oblivion. That's all the vehicle I'd ever need, and a bike could handle the rough terrain without having to be some kind of oversized monstrosity of a vehicle. No need to overthink it. Make the bike seat work for two, so Andreja could bemoan the instability of two-wheeled vehicles while clinging for dear life. :) … make it comically unrideable in very low G, because the boost pack is fun in low G anyway.

Hahaha I love that idea! We absolutely need ground transport and I still can’t understand why those weren’t included from the beginning. I think that would eliminate basically the entire issue of traversal distances and ‘emptiness’. And yeah, a vehicle hangar ship module would be the best way to execute it. They could even give us options, the larger the ground vehicle, the larger its attached hangar would have to be. Fingers crossed!

So I watched through this amazing build and I had a quick question, without quoting (because I can't remember and cba to scroll back) 😅 you mentioned picking or only picking certain perk points with regards to your load out efficiency. Was that just a level restriction issue or do some perks negatively affect your ships performance with those specific loadouts or did I mishear or misunderstand the situation 🤔 This build is legit!

Hahah man if you think I can remember exactly what I said in each video, you’re giving me too much credit! All I can say in response to your question is to prioritize skill point investments into the things you use. As an example: I rarely use turrets on my ship, and never use lasers or EM weapons, so I have not put any skill points into those even now at level 160+. To make the most effective use of your ships, however, the Piloting skill is pretty paramount, but otherwise just maxing out the skills that are most relevant to how you play is the best practice. ​@WizeOldWizard haha fair. However I've run into an issue that says Invalid docker module position error. It's the highest point on the ship even with the tail and I haven't added weapons yet. Not sure where I've gone wrong but don't feel I have. Can't save so will have to retry tomorrow from scratch 😅

Use a 1x1 underneath it to raise it up one module unit, that should clear the error, save and exit builder. Re-enter builder and move it to the right spot.

​@@WizeOldWizardFixed it. Turns out the game doesn't like the duplicate tail pieces above the engines. Had to delete and refit manually. Gone for the Vanguard Weapons no turrets loadout so will see how that goes tonight. Looks amazing, made a few minor aesthetic choices like moving the fuel tanks to where the reactor is in between the 2 halves of the ship and putting portholes on the front of those hab spaces for example might play around with that still. Definitely gonna look at other builds, thanks for the effort 👌

The slim docker wouldn’t work functionally in that position, but using that one would leave a strange gap between the nova cowlings on either side.

By light effect, do you mean thruster effect animation? They should all do exactly the same thing.

The smoke and landing Animation works for All six gears. But on graund the Front left is Illuminaten from the 4 intigratet Lampe. The other Do Not Show the lightefect.

Try raising it up one unit by placing a 1x1 under it, then leave the builder. Re-enter the builder and move it to the proper location, and that should clear the error. I had a similar situation with the Typhon recently.

I use the “goalie” approach, considering it has one ‘L’ and two ‘i’s. I have not heard a character in-game pronounce it yet so that’s what I’m going with. WALL-E and Volley are effectively the same pronunciation. You make the ‘ah’ sound for both. Notice that they both have two L’s, and that’s why.
