Dude was 100% gonna walk over there and end his brother had Cole not walked up. I’ve seen people saying “he wasnt gonna kill him, he was sheathing his sword *before* Cole called his name” but he was only putting his sword away as he had spotted his father’s dagger; and he probably saw it fitting to finish his brother with that dagger given it is passed down from ruler to ruler.

A lot of people saying this but I don't think so. I think Criston realizes if Aegon dies, so does their cause. Losing the war means not only does all of Team Green die, his legacy as Hand of the King (and as a knight) is forever tarnished. Cole is literally obsessed with salvaging his honor/reputation. I think in this moment, he is very heavily questioning his own decision to bring Aemond into the fold, not expecting he would go so far as to murder his own brother.

I never thought I would say that but the look on Criston Cole's face almost made me cry. He knew Aegon since he was a bady. He trained him and watched him grow up. He was more a mentor for Aegon than Viserys ever was. He was the only one who didn't insult him or treated him like an idiot. And he is the son of Alicent who I belive Criston has feelings for at this point. And now he sees him on the ground almost burned to a crisp. Because of his plan. And it was Aemond who did it. The feeling when the kids who you help to raise hurt each other like this must be brutal

The guilt for Aegon might push Cole even further😢 and YEAH... he loved those boys, though they were never his own. He didn't just train them. Clearly, they feel comfortable with him in a way that goes beyond "swordyard teacher and bodyguard" For me, the moment that cemented his relationship with them was in season 1 when Meleys burst through the ground. Helena, who's uncomfortable with people touching her, grabs onto Cole to keep her safe

@Hamnyang0613 I'd love if they show that in the actual TV show!!! Having alicent feeling guilty KNOWing she did everything wrong to put him in this position. Cole is sitting and just holding his Kings hand, wishing to undo what had happened or wishing he'd done more. It'd be nice if "avenging" Aegon, or doing this for Aegon, becomes his soul reason for continuing the fight! Would show that he's not just an "evil incel" like show-only fans think his is. Would be cool if people saw he's more complex than that

​@johnbardo4722 they have resistance to fire but not immune. Also, Danny is only immune to fire on the show, not the book. Her surviving Khal Drogos funeral was a fluke and magical. She herself can burn in the books. Also id imagine in the show only some Targaryens are immune (as the show made it a Targaryen trait). Maybe as Aegon is half Hightower he didnt inherit the immunity to fire.
