So glad they did! This scene is fantastic. The subtleties are what makes it. We finally find out how Mysaria got the scar on her neck. And it's so fucking heartbreaking. I think the hug starts as a "thank you for sharing" and comfort for the hurt sharing might have brought up. But then Rhae finds comfort in the hug as well. And then when she turns in to Mysaria's neck it's almost an acknowledgment/acceptance of a shared pain. Shared pain of being at the will of men. Like at 2:07. It's hard to see but it looks like Rhae kisses or lightly grazes the scar. Man that's beautiful.

I love all the little details in this beautiful and sensual scene. Very well thought-out and realistic, too. Great acting, too. You really see Mysaria doubthing whether to share this tragic detail of her past with Rhaenyra but decides to do so. A beautiful intimate sharing insures where Rhaenyra quickly realizes where this story is going to (her facial expression when she turns) which ensures total compassion for what happened to Mysaria. The the hug which they both needed at that moment. Mysaria for opening up about something like this, Rhaenyra for what's going on around her, they both needed that hug and connection. Mysarias face of relief/comfort when Rhaenyra hugs her and you still see Mysarias face for a little while. Then the 'switch' for Rhaenyra from a comforting hug to something else which insures the whole 'Neck stuff' right before the sensual kissing. And then the hilarious moment when they are being disturbed and you see the annoyence (and shame too, her looking at a suddenly very interesting table xD) on Rhaenyras face 'You had to disturbed me for that!? Yeah, he does fly around about there.. >.>' And then the actual news that was worth distubring her for :P

⁠it doesn't feel forced because of the lack of clues or missed ones. it feels forced because the storyline makes almost no sense. the Queen who probably grew up believing she was above the commoner, later named heir having wars waged on her behalf, meets a smallfolk who used to be her husband's ex and aided him in that disastrous revenge plan, suddenly sees her as an equal because she was raped as kid (as if this doesn't happen to every fifth woman in that universe) and she is slightly more trustworthy than the people rhaenyra deals with?

You may choose a faction based on your preferences, but at the end of the day, neither one are worthy of the throne, which is the true morale George R R Martin gave. The people of Westeros lose themselves so much into "Who should win ? Who should rule ?" that they tear each other for someone who only ends up being a terrible ruler. Also why both Aegon and Rhaenyra have a go at ruling throughout the story, demonstrating that point. And in a funny twist of fate, the online community tore itself apart in the same way, between Rhaenyra's supporters and her detractors. Personally, I'll support her youngest son, Viserys.
