When North Korea anthem is better than the south
@cageybee72215 жыл бұрын
they were undeniably better for most of their history. it is only since the 90's that the famine caused by being unable to import food from the USSR or the rest of the world (even china, as the US pressures them to limit food exports) caused an awful famine that devastated the country and economy before they worked out a decent rationing system, even still very few people in north korea go without the basic needs of water, shelter, healthcare, education, and clothing and most get atleast 1700 calories a day which for a country which can only produce enough food for 90% of it's population (assuming a 2000 calorie diet) is not bad. there is more poverty in south korea than in the north despite the south having more farmland by far and no such embargoes on access to foreign trade.
@canond75375 жыл бұрын
@@cageybee7221 South Korean living standards were better starting in the mid 70s, well before the aids stopped and the famine happened in North Korea. Don't ignore the fact that the South had major economic set backs as well including the 2 oil shocks and the IMF crisis of the 90s. The North relied on aid from the Soviet union and had natural resources while the South focused on textile exports and later industrial exports. Foreign aid and selling natural resource tends to make a country lazy/unproductive, and when disaster strikes, it's hard to manuver and recover from it. South Korea experienced the same thing from 1945 - 1961 but when general Park took over in a military coup, he made the people stop relying on American aid and work for the betterment of the country while being a benevolent dictator himself. You also mentioned that more people in the South are experiencing more poverty, I think that's BS. Such BS that I almost had a stroke but lets say that was true. The government can set their own standard of poverty for a nation. For example, the American government can set the poverty line below the $100, 000 anual income mark and anyone making below that, lets say $90, 000 will be "technically" be in poverty but we all know that $90, 000 is a lot of anual income regardless of the poverty line. Please go back to school.

"Please go back to school." ad hominem arguments are not arguments. if you need to resort to insults and name calling then you have admitted you have nothing else.
@canond75375 жыл бұрын
It's ironic how you're asking for sources yet you've never provided any yourself. Park Chung Hee established the middle class in the 70s, that's enough proof. Do I need to demonstrate with some grade school level graph where the North Korea and South Korean economies go off tangent? What is your definition of fascism? There are many incorrect definitions of fascism today. The true definition of fascism at it's core is "Disregarding the individual for a greater cause". I'm no PHD scholar but I'm pretty sure these communist totalitarians like Mao, Stalin, and Kim fit this description easily. Park Chung Hee never even came close to these guys in terms of genocidal tendencies. I hope you realize that dictators on both ends of the political extremes are not very different from each other. For example, Park and Hitler are labelled as right wing "fascists" but they incorporated many socialist policies into their respective societies. Stalin and Kim were "communists" but they incorporated many elements of whatever derivative definition of fascism there is onto their own lands. So it's ironic and hypocritical when you are seemingly sympathetic towards a nation that has been pulling some shady shit while condemning "Park Chung Hee" himself who should be the last person you should be mocking. I'm not trying to play jokes, I'm genuinely bewildered you ignore unbiased historical facts so I felt the need to explain carefully so you don't take my words out of context. BTW I'm not a fascist, I vote for left wing progressive parties lol, but I also don't blatantly ignore history either. That last part wasn't a part of the arguement, it was just an insult towards your stupidity. Stop trying to sound smart.
@张桓瑜3 жыл бұрын

in south korea, nobody wants to hire north korea defectors. their only source of income is telling stories about the north for money. eventually they run out of true ones and make shit up. and since north korea is a closed off country it is difficult to fact check them. the reality of the situation is not nearly as bad as it is painted to be. the US embargoes the country and blocks food imports aswell as pressures china to do the same and they are only able to grow food for 90% of their population (assuming a 2000 calorie diet) so they must ration this causing widespread malnutrition but very few actual starvations. despite this enormous burden they still maintain the 4th largest army in the world and the bomb, aswell as giving all their citizens the basic needs of food (what they can), water, shelter, healthcare, education, and clothing. this is more than many people living in the south have access to despite their abundant farmlands and unembargoed trade.
