Thanks for a great videos - I’m thinking of getting on purely for domestic purposes and family members to borrow. I live in a hard water area and have a water softener. Given the resin bag use it makes sense to use softened water, however my outside tap is hard water . I currently would need to attach the hose to a tap in the utility room. Would that be practical or too much of a mess? Or should I replumb the outside tap? Thanks in advance.
@aemackintosh2 ай бұрын
It is possible to connect to an inside tap if you get the right hose attachment for the tap. Hozelock do some good adapters. There is always a risk of making a mess though I suppose. It would be better to fit an outside tap if possible.😉👍🏼

Everyone has been informed to change resin bags when the ppm gets to 10-11. I proved this theory wrong on 10/16/21when my meter was showing in excess of 80 ppm. The unfiltered water I was using measured at 220 ppm. The bag I was using had less then 10 hours of usage. I checked the water coming out of the unit to see if the meter was wrong but everything was in check. Despite the high ppm, the windows turned out perfectly clear with no spotting. My last meter reading reflected approximately 110 ppm. This took place in Marana, AZ.

What about the newer DI filter model (the one with green cap)? According to Unger, you should only use the Ultra Resin bags with it (the cyilindrical-looking ones), but those have a specific order in which they go in the filter - red ones on bottom, green one on top. Can those resin bags still be rotated around to ensure maximum usage? Because from pictures I really don't see any structural difference between red and green ones. If not, can I just use the normal resin bags in newer model as well?
@aemackintosh2 жыл бұрын
I’m not entirely sure, but I think they have just done that so you end up buying more filters from them. It is just resin at the end of the day.

Hello, I have the Unger Hydropower Ultra and after installing an active carbon and sediment filter i get very little water out, like 1-1.5l per minute with normal household water pressure. My question is, can I boost the system or do something to get decent water pressure out of it without dismounting the carbon and sediment filter?

Make sure you have the pre filters the right way round so they are not restricting the water flow. It is possible to get a booster pump if your pressure is low. This will help push the water through at a better rate.👍🏼

A.E.Mackintosh Cleaning Services thanks for the reply. I’m a car detailer and am looking at mobile solutions for pure water. Your video caught my eye, so I thought I’d ask you the question. Water spotting is a big issue in the warm weather.
@aemackintosh4 жыл бұрын
Ah, ok, I see. I guess it might be possible. It will depend on the pressure coming from the tap and how many litres of water your pressure washer uses per minute. The hydro power has a little device inside the hose connector at the bottom which restricts the flow for window cleaning but it can be easily removed which should give you a higher flow for your pressure washer. Also, if the TDS reading from the tap is much above 100ppm you will have to change the filter quite often, which could make it expensive to run. It depends how hard the water is in your area. I hope that helps.😃👍🏼
