You can tell by the size difference of the dragons. Because he was raised in the Dragon Pit for the better part of a Decade, Arrax didn’t grow as large. Vhagar had the Dragonmont on Dragonstone. They had much larger space for the dragons to move around. The Pits in Kings Landing confided the dragons to small cramped caves.
