THANK YOU for these comparisons, and for showing the size difference alongside the Bellroy Sling. I have the Bellroy, but am curious about the Aer slings. The Bellroy is about as small as I would use for a daily sling, so the Aer slings are a bit small for me.

I have both of these and due to my preference in light edc sling, I prefer the city sling due to it's more compact size and ambidextrous carry. The issues that you mentioned with the dangling straps, it was a big annoyance for me. Therefore, I made customizations using lapel pins with the locking clutch to pin down the expandable compartment straps and the waist straps. This locked everything down with no room for sliding or wiggle and it makes it look pretty cool in the process. They need to include strapkeepers or looping straps to address the annoyance of dangling straps.

I bought the AER day sling 2, had it delivered to the hotel for our two week vacation in the states, went for the limited edition, as you ca see everything inside with the contrasting orange inserts. I managed to get the #Insta 360 One X selfie pole, bullet tripod and camera in the front pouch. Second pocket, USB charger, some cables, sunglasses, spare battery, final pocket docs, passes for example. Put a hero clip on it so I could hang it of anything table, chair etc. Really comfortable for all day use, so easy to just swing around and access. Well worth the money, highly, highly recommend. My wife was even impressed with my new man bag!

Waiting for the Minaal Crossbody to arrive in December, but these both look great. I usually carry my GX85 with a 20mm prime lens with me and while it fits no problem in the Peak Design 5L sling, these bags with their smaller form factor are making me wonder if I need to get a Ricoh GRii or a Fuji x70....both compact cameras that would fit wonderfully in either of these slings. And the best camera is the camera you're going to have with you all the time!

I am consider buying the city sling or day sling. I had look at a lot of review and the product page and am leaning toward the day sling as it seem bigger in spec so that can I can pop my glasses with case in (not sure it that would fit) but from what i just notice it seem that the city sling is able to stand up on it own to open the main component which seem cool compare to the day sling which it seem to be flat. Would a city sling fit a par of non-foldable glasses with case. Also it seem that a lot reviewer like the city more than day but for me it doesn't seem to be that different. any POV on which one i should buy?

CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME.....I'm a 54 year old husband, dad and grandfather. I really like the look of the Aer day sling 2 and I love the fact it will free up all of my pants pockets. Here's where I get stuck....I'm 54 years old. Am I "too old" to wear this? Every video I've seen are young 20/30 something Millennials carrying a sling on their back. Am I too old? For the security minded travelers, maybe you should review the Pacsafe Vibe 150. I've been wearing mine everyday. Have to say it's the best everyday bag I have now. It's a small pack and I like it better than it's bigger brother that I only use occasionally.

We just tested this out with the YETI Rambler 12oz Bottle with HotShot Cap packhacker.com/travel-gear/yeti/rambler-12-oz-bottle-with-hotshot-cap/ and it fits inside with some space to spare. It is going to make the sling bulkier than it would look with flatter items, but it's not overly bulky. Hope this helps! 😊👍 - Rebecca

I’ve tested both, and wanted to give a super quick thought: Both are great, and serve two different groups of people. City is for folks who don’t carry much, mostly flat, small items. Day Sling carries slightly more, but suffers from too many pockets, and a wedged form factor which tends to push bulkier items up. Still a solid bag however, and is more comfortable to wear if you’re a larger person (over 6’). I also compared to the Bellroy Sling, and that holds way more obviously, and does it in a way that expands nicely. Anyway, thanks again for these quick hits!

JayHizzo I chose neither. For my carry, I’m long-term testing the Bellroy Sling at the moment. I LOVE Aer, but both of these slings just didn’t do it for me, so returned one and sold the other. I would have kept the Day Sling 2 however, far more comfortable, but need less internal organization and lack of a wedge form factor at the bottom of the bag.

JayHizzo it’s been a crazy journey for me. I’ve tested about 8 different slings, and the life lesson I’ve noticed is that you REALLY need to be committed to going full sling, or use it sparingly. Meaning, if you have a small EDC setup, and don’t carry a laptop around, a sling is a no brainer. You get lots of great features with any sling. But if you split time carrying technology, like a laptop, it’s a challenge to go to work, and have to figure out bag needs. It’s WAY more personal if a journey than I anticipated at first. But over time my EDC kit got smaller, and I found I needed a sling that can feel small, but pack more than you think. 7L is the max I’d say works for a proper sling. Over 7L and you’re at small backpack territory, meaning it won’t be as comfortable as a proper pack, or sling-backpack.

i ve watched a ton of these videos, im going back and forth on these two bags, will be using it for everyday use and also travelling on a plane, passport, battery charger, wallet, phone etc, keep thinking that day sling (3) will be overkill even for travelling on a plane. but then i think for the money i can get a slightly larger bag. anyone offer help

Just picked up the City Sling in grey which is the 900D eco-dyed polyester. Really compliments my GR2 in wolf grey. I prefer the City Sling as I feel I can use it more often than just during travel. The Day Sling for me is just too big and is getting into murse territory in my opinion.

i own this bag as well and i would say the only jacket that would fit in that front pocket is one made for an infant, and even that's pushing it. it is extremely shallow and i don't see you being able to zip it closed with any type of jacket in there.

You definitely could fit a small water bottle in the Day Sling 2, but it's not really designed for that, and it would eat into the main space of the sling. The City Sling handles this a little better with the expandable exterior pocket. You could always clip a carabiner with a water bottle outside of either of these if you're concerned with space! - Tom

As sharp as the midline zipper looks on the city, sling, and the city pack for that matter, it feels so claustrophobic to me. I would love to see them, lengthen the zipper to where it rounds over the endpoints. It would open much wider that way.
