@@dannypacks Got the bag yesterday, haven't loaded it up yet, but just trying it on and looking through it, it looks GREAT. The Ultra material looks like it will last a long time, zippers looks really good. I bought the hip belt as well which seems to work really well. The only thing I wish Aer sold hip belt pouches, like the Tortuga packs already have built in. Looks like I'm going to have to search for an aftermarket that will work, there are quite a few out there.

Excellent review. I'll probably pass on these bags. I feel like they just reskinned all their current bags with ultra and upped the price. I was hoping that with the new ultra material they'd drop weight a lot. Would like a sub 2lb City pro

Thank you for watching and for the support! Definitely would have been nice to see more of a weight reduction with the ultra fabric
@TLhike3 ай бұрын
For those who scoff at price: You get what you pay for. Cheap will fail @ the worst possible time. Old saying: “if you got a $10 head, get $10 helmet” I did a thru hike on john muir trail 228 miles and ducking under a tree in storm caught huge broken branch which wouldve destroyed any pack from any outdoor store. But my expensive dyneema pack was barely scuffed. Now add in the occasional forced bag check and see if baggage handlers are gonna white glove your Bag. Also had my stuff tossed on way to Africa and my overpriced stuff again was unfazed and even w lifetime warranty on usual commercial stuff youre still in middle of nowhere lookin for duct tape. Also touring w major bands someone invariably rips strap off while removing tons bags or breaks zipper from under a bus storage, its fun. Price is only issue in the absence of Value, pay once cry once its worth it!

Thank you for watching! I think both can work well, it will just come down to preference on the size (if you don’t mind a larger daily bag I think the tp3 small is a little more versatile) and if you are going to use it more for day to day I might go with the city pack pro

I’d rather have the Xpac stuff to be honest. The Ultra looks like garbage with it’s wrinkly look. Sure, I’m sure it’s a fantastic technical fabric, but so is Xpac and for 99% of us, it’s probably the better option.

I know this is the backpack community. And this is quite niche. But seriously who is buying these $300 bags. 😅 I mean I appreciate your video and I love watching the content behind it. And I also get the hype behind good quality. But $200+ seems too much for a bag. Maybe I am just poor. The tomtoc range seems like a good balance between quality and price.

Thank you for watching and definitely fair points! Price is always an interesting subject around these types of goods as it can be so subjective (still blows my mind there are purses that can cost 10,000).
