For a tree to burn it takes a lot of other adjacent burning trees to make it burn in any notable time,all forest fires start from dry woods and sticks or dead trees,never from alive ones,for a living tree to begin to burn it has to have something burn right next to it for a while,and the shitty construction material of most american homes makes them easy to catch fire and burn,which has a *small* upside of them easily and quickly burning up,they dont burn for long enough for the heat to dry the living tree for long enough to make it dry enough to catch fire

These are very sad pictures and video and I wish strength to manage and survive them somehow.... Some of the houses are OK in the video (brick houses?). The main problem can be that you in the US, in general ....you use wood. In this desertic L.A area and the hurricane zones in the south that would be necessary to use brick and concrete. We use brick and concrete here in Europe (Hungary) . To built a house, not the construction material is the main cost. The structure is just around 35- 40% of the total cost. Other costs like piping, sanitation, electricity, plaster, painting and never the last what is IN the house furniture etc are the main ones. But The construction time with brick is also longer- disadvantage. Another thing: If there more rigid material houses--- the fire is not able to catch the other houses....the spreading is slower.
