Handloop spins on the Aerial Hoop / Lyra; you can play with the speed of the spin by switching between compact shapes and open shapes (contraction vs extension). Even very simple shapes can give beautiful results, but do be prepared - your stomach might not agree! If you struggle with nausea, try to build up your spinning tolerance slowly and steadily over a period of weeks, taking plenty of breaks in each session (some people find that sipping ginger tea inbetween helps) and avoiding big meals and drinks beforehand ;-)

Awwww, thank you so much! ✨😘✨ It’s something I’m still working on to be honest - as I’ve never had any dance training, pretty hands don’t come naturally to me and I have to remind myself constantly! 😂

did you get dizzy when you were beginning to learn? if so did that ever go away?

YES! Definitely! Everyone's different at the beginning (some are more sensitive to the effects of spinning than others, a bit like car-sickness, sea-sickness or tolerance for rollercoaster rides etc...), but building it up very slowly over time helps your body to gradually desensitize and get used to it. My doubles partner couldn't tolerate it at all in the beginning, but gradually adapted over a period of weeks/ months. She found drinking ginger tea before and after really helpful :) Avoid eating too much beforehand too - it makes it much worse!! It DOES get better though, as long as you don't push it too quickly and give yourself a bad experience (which will set you back). Hope that helps! Stick with it :)

I love this! I’m currently learning with my hadd/ foot but my had always aches and hurts a lot after while of practicing any tips?

Thankyou! Yes, as with all things aerial it can take a while for your body (in this case your hand!) to get used to bearing your weight in this way, but it does adapt in time and you'll soon find you don't notice it anymore :) Enjoy! C x

I'd love to try that but I think I'd pass out🙄 I can't even spin on a merry go round with my Gkid without getting dizzy🤦

😂 I do understand!! It does get easier though, as long as you build up very slowly and gently - munching on candied ginger beforehand can help! 😊
