Kilmore is a town in the State of Victoria - Australia. Located 60 kilometres north of Melbourne, it is the oldest inland town in Victoria by the combination of age and physical occupation, and because it had unique agricultural attributes to drive that earliest settlement. Wikipedia
Kilmore is a 1 hour drive from the Melbourne Central Business District (CBD)
We had 2 hours to get lunch and visit the oldest inland town - There were a number of pubs / bars to visit along the main road and ended up in Mac's Irish Tavern, an old blue stone building built in 1861.
The counter meal was great and was well patronised by the locals and the blue collar crews.

The word gaol is pronounced jail.....I thought that would have been obvious... The race of people being celtic is not pronounced seltic.....that is a boston basketball team

Further to the below Kelly remarks (as well as the video itself), why has no one picked up on the fact that Ned's father, 'Red' Kelly was jailed in Kilmore for 6 months after having been blamed for stealing and skinning a calf? From what I recall as a former resident of Kilmore, the Kelly's also had a couple of appearances at the court house, albeit when Ned was still a young boy, while the Kelly's were well gone from Beveridge and living up the road in Avenel before Ned got into his adolescence. Therefore, the only time Ned might have potentially seen the insides of the Kilmore jail was when he was visiting his father with his mother, while one might reasonably assume that this is an incidence which was unlikely to have occurred.

You should have a chat with the local heritage association of Kilmore; it might help the prison promote that information or the city could use it as a way to generate tourism !

I don't think so, yet many suggest that he was held there but I haven't found any information to confirm this, yet the goal / museum have a replica Kelly armour on display to keep that myth alive !

@@louithefly I only had a short amount of time in Kilmore this time - However I intend to return as I like to motorcycle to old country pubs for a meal when I get the chance !
