@@JerrBearTactical ok thanks!!! It looks like the spring was wound backwards, i put it like you had it and the lip was wrong, i put it backwards and voila! Thank you!! I had an Aero M5 upper and put it on an AR10, apparently I need a DPMS .308 lower as I got the wrong one I thought AR10 and AR308 were the same…live and learn! Thank you! Nobody has a video like you do. I needed this for the forward assist and dust cover. I got it all done yesterday and have the gas line and gas key left, then hand-guard and i can test it out! Thank you 🙏

That works if one has the same fore end sleeve/barrel nut, etc., and all the stars (and barrel nut) align. Otherwise. that's not happening.

Thank you 🙏 just put together an M5 Aero precision upper assembly, barrel, dust cover, forward assist. Funny, bought an AR10 lower assembly from palmetto and it’s a .308 DPMS upper with an AR10 lower 😂it works fine just goofy i didn’t know they were different lol

How do you take it off of a (NON ENHANCED ) Aero upper receiver that doesn't have the set screw

I’m curious tho what all dust covers work on the m4e1 because I was wanting a strike industries and it says on their website that their dust covers won’t work on a m4e1 upper.

So I haven't used the Strike Industry dust cover on any of my builds, though I have seen guys that have used the SI polymer dust cover but had to modify it a bit to work. SI newest dust cover is made of aluminum and I'm guessing that it won't work at all without modifying it but that's a chance you would have to take. I personally prefer just a standard mil-spec dust cover, but that's just me. Strike Industry makes great stuff. I use there flatwire buffer spring in all my builds.

What if I don’t have a enhanced version and I want to put on a dust cover? Would I have to disassemble the whole upper just to add the dust cover without a aero hand rail? Lol I messed up hahah

It's all going to be based on weather the dust cover rod can be slid out of the way and there's no interference with the barrel nut on a threaded receiver 😉👍👊🇺🇸

No unfortunately not ... you have to remove the handguard.

I forgot to put on dustcover I had the gunsmith torque my barrel nut and hand guard, on already and now I see its blocked. ready to remove my hand guard now.

apologize for the rookie questions . my first upper build.

@@joejeans7913 you will have to remove the handguatd and then the set screw toremove the dust over rod. If there's any interference from the barrel nut just file down that nub of the barrel nut that's in your way. You shouldn't have to remove to much material if it's in your way and it won't hurt the barrel nut. Hope this helps😉

Doesn't work with a Aero M4E1 with a Aero Atlas handguard, Pin won't clear the nut at all as the nut is nothing like that on the Atlas handguard

Yep ... and you didn't read the description were it says M4E1 Enhanced upper !!! Not M4E1 Threaded upper !!! Two total difference processes for installing and removing dust cover. Thanks for stopping by and watching 👊
