As technology improves, the trend is to focus on learning systems, procedures, and master sophisticated cockpit automation, sometimes just through simulation and theory. All those points are important, cost-effective, and will help us during the learning process, but as long as we are still required to perform manually reacting in a timely and precise manner, we should never bury basic skills, real flying, and heuristics.
Only in actual aircraft a #pilot can encounter proper stall and spin characteristics. Professional feedback through supervised deliberate practice is crucial for establishing positive startle and life-saving muscle memory actions. When it comes to low-level, low speed, close to the stall, MTOW, manual flying, as it happens while #Aerialfirefighting with our amphibious scoopers or SEAT's, there is very little time to react. Therefore, not just #UPRT training is important, but ideally, we should have a solid understanding of aerobatic maneuvers, to avoid LOC-I events of catastrophic consequences.
Remember! "For an #aerobatic pilot, there are no unusual attitudes"
