I love these old AeroTwin bars. I would definitely suspect this to be a surplussed NYPD, as you said with the 1Z on the tag and the non-stock beams in the rotators. Awesome find! Maybe I'll get my hands one in the future

That was my eventual plan, I still need to determine what path I wish to go down for dome colors. And repair or replace my failing power pack.

So SV do you think the "new" owner would have taken the time to reverse the speaker grille (and speakers) so the wires entered the bar on the driver's side? I guess flipping everything from a NYPD spec to a traditional wire entrance location would make sense if installing the bar on a typical drivers side vehicle. Were there infact NYPD or FD bars where the wire entrance was on the drivers side?

Good question actually, if there is one thing I have learned there was never any 100% when it came to FDNY and NYPD bars. FDNY did use the 24RVF on some vehicles, but I do not believe it was flipped like the NYPD bars were. The few instances that I was able to speak with people who were in the know, the answers I got all seemed have some sort of variance. Just recently the current rumor is that all FDNY bars have the correct bulbs required written inside the frame on marker. I've never seen that before personally, and i have 3 that all have ties to FDNY that do not do this. So take any ALWAYS statements with a grain of salt.
