I like this design much better than the older version. Black plugs are much better, as is the black deck. I like that the electronics are no longer exposed next to the light stem and now you can set the timer. Older unit works well but this is a definite upgrade 👍

Looks like aerogarden bounty. I'm starting to notice that these non aerogarden models do not have grow decks with inner irrigation which in a way could make the bowl cleaning much simpler . love the fact that you can customize the light schedule.

i think it is sad that they are so expensive. it is way less complicated then an alarm clock and the bulk of the item is just a simple water tank. the price is astronomical for no reason.

Thanks for sharing. Have you had any issues with the pump on older units? Looks like some nice upgrades that were needed. Wish they had an air stone for faster roots. Cool that you can set your own timer now 👍

no. all the chinese models only circulate the water inside of the tank without even making splash and aeration. only a few model make the water splash around like in this video. i bought a AHopeGarden myself and it was a very bad design. i made myself a special 3D print to add a shower head. its on Printables

Nice unboxing video. I have an off-topic question. When you grow fruiting vegetables, are you using the veg mode or bloom mode? Would you please consider demonstrating a video of growing a fruiting plant, and comparing the results using each lighting mode? There seem to be conflicting opinions among longtime growers as to whether more blue light benefits fruiting plants.

always use the mode that has all the LEDs ON. Aerogarden Experiments showed in a couple of videos that the other mode is useless and your plant will die.

I recently bought the g12(old model but refreshed design) and im not overly pleased with the device itself. The bowl came warped, being detacheable is great but its hard to remove without pulling the light with it, and its hard to close the cover on top because its curved along the front side, probably from all the stuff that's was put inside it/handling. I also dont like the controls on it. Idoos buttons are so simple and make sense, light on/off, fan and pump on or off, power. This one only lets you turn on or off the entire machine, and then the light intensity. The pump is overpowered,forit has the splitter for even distribution (not needed in such a small tank considering both my idoo have grown fine), and removing it makes it jet way to powerfully so I presume it needs to be split. It makes as much as noise as my idoo models, but because it naturally sits so high it makes noise after half a litre of water being used. Almost every night when the pump is too loud due to the water level dropping on the idoo models, I'll turn the pump off at night sometimes if its too noisy. I've forgotten to turn it back on once, but I didnt realise until the tomato plants wilted like 3 or 4 days later, so I don't think it's lacking any air with its simpler pump design I filled it to it's maximum volume on the window, but the pump causes water to splash against the pod holes, causing water to escape/grow algae(its probably why their pod coverw seal wo tight, shame no where sells them in Australia, cant find any from any brand out there). My last complaint is them calling it smart when it has no functionality outside light dimming , that others dont have, and if anything has less control capabilities. I wanted to get this model, but it was about another $60 at the time(120 vs 180). Will see how it goes

Another thing they should change in this model is get rid of the crazy amounts of plastics, THERE IS NO NEED for that.
