The baremetal livery was officially adopted in 1972 along with the "AEROMEXICO" name, the logo was created by an engineer named Trujillo, also the brand and trademark was managed by Al Kaplan's Advertising Agency in NY. The decision to adopt the polished metal fuselage was decided due to technical reasons, not because some US carrier had it.....

You have missed a livery variation. Look at your photos from 1986 and 1989. That isn't the same as the 1981 scheme. From 1988-90 (your 86 photo must be mislabelled) after the bankruptcy the Eagle Knight figure was changed and the feathers lost in favour of stripes. Plus the main titles altered losing the accent and getting stripes on the aero. This was the same Eagle Knight that carried across to the 1990 scheme.
