I have lots of Sew Sweetness patterns and purchased the video sew along with all of the patterns - well worth it. I have not made the aeroplane bag yet, but have made another bag where I needed to veer off. You are correct in that it should not look pinched 😊. The videos that can be purchased with the patterns show up close details. I remember whatever bag I was making I needed to watch that part. I was making bags during the early part of the pandemic when everyone was at home. Your new bag will be great for going in and out of the boat. I like the Sallie Tomato zippers! My continuous zippers don’t have an end like that. I struggle some to get the tape inserted evenly.

I think if I buy more of her patterns, I'll buy the video as well. I just find it a little frustrating that her instructions aren't as clear as they should be and then you're encouraged to buy the video as well.

Glad your bag turned out so well for you. I agree that a zipper tab on each end might help with the finish. I have no idea how it is supposed to be finished. The bag is absolutely gorgeous!

Hi Izzy, oh I do love that bag. What a colour and fabulous size for a weekend 💙Great inside zip pockets, we talked the same thing yet again JINX 😂. I have just done that Thuy crafts bag and the zip construction was so different and easy, it kind of dangles over or you tuck it in. I'm sure you've probably done it before but I loved constructing it. I had a lesson from the master = Adam on how to put those tabs on. Before he showed me it used to take hours. My Amazon zips don't have that easy end access but serves me right for buying cheap. I'm sure you are going to help A LOT of people with your tutorial. ❤ xx

The aeroplane bag turned out so gorgeous! It looks very professionally made. Except better because the color and fabric are so much more fun and customized than 99% of what you can find in a store. Your bag making skills are definitely impressive. Thank you for the tips with the zipper tape! I’ve used it a couple of times but definitely have room for improvement.

Zipper tabs at each end would be another possibility on how to make that zipper look a little neater at each end.

Thank you Izzy! I am glad I watched your video before tackling my Aeroplane Bag. I did purchase the video tutorial offered by Sew Sweetness when I purchased the pattern but haven't watched it yet. I am in need of zipper tape so the tips you provided will help me choose the right product. I think I will also try to put the double pulls on the top zipper so that I can open it just a little in the middle as well as maybe some feet on the bottom. As I mentioned I will also try the luggage sleeve hack. Do you think webbing could be used for the handles? I may try that as well. Thank you again, I found your review and zipper tutorial very helpful. I will need to obtain some of the hardware before starting my bag. Take care 💞

Brenda, it is more clear when Sara demonstrates in the sew alongside that go with the pattern. I have not sewn the aeroplane bag, but have made the Widget Messenger bag, camera bag, creative supply case, amethyst project bag, Sheffield, and a couple more. I would think if you got the wider webbing straps it would be fine for the handles. I made the widget bag as my first proper bag and it came out great. It was a slower sew as I was doing some firsts both techniques and materials. I wish I had the zipper tape like Izzy used as that looks so easy to load the pull neatly. Sallie Tomato is nice hardware.

I'm so glad the video was helpful. i think having two pulls on the top zipper is a great idea!! Not sure which size you're planning to make, but I didn't have enough feet for the long size. I would have needed 8 I think and I only had 6. I thought only having 3 on each of the long sides wouldn't be enough but I could be wrong.
