Aeroponic Systems - The Growth Chamber:
I reveal the Ultimate Aeroponic Growth Chamber that you can buy right now in your town.
What you need to know to choose the right Growth Chamber for your aeroponic system part 2.
In a true high-pressure aeroponics system, plants are grown in a chamber. The plant roots are suspended/hanging in space inside the growth chamber where they receive their nutrients and water through a fine mist. This means that roots can get larger and more easily absorb nutrients and oxygen. There’s less chance of root zone disease because there’s no material for debris or pathogens to reside.

Hi, I am interested in building a compact system vertically stacked in order to fit several growth layer within 2 to 2.5m height (like a growing rack). Hence i am interested in getting the height of the growth chambers as low as possible. What do you think is the minimum height I could achieve for short crops such as lettuce and the likes? Have you ever tried making it lower, say 5" for these kind of crops? Thank you! Great videos!

Thank you so much for such a wonderful video @hightechgardener. I see that you've mentioned you can put 64 plants in the area of this particular ice chest. Isn't the distance between two seeds/ plants too less on the lid? Isn't that a factor we should be considering? Anyone's help would be much appreciated.

It's been over a year since you indicated you will be using the EZ-Clone Low Pro 128 System. What are the pros, cons, and overall performance based on your experience?

In this video you recommend the EZ-Clone Low Pro 128, but after checking their website, three online stores, and a Google Search, the only information I can find regarding what type of plastic they use for their grow chambers is a specifications table entry on Home Depot that says PVC - and those tables are notoriously unreliable for material accuracy. Do you have any information on what type of plastic is in these and a source you can reference for it? Thank you.

made form protected hype plastic. All I can find about hype plastic is that it is BPA free and often used to make water bottles. Bear in mind that several BPA free plastics have been found to be more toxic than those that contain BPA. Here's something i found about that What does it mean to be BPA free? Despite decades of research indicating the dangers of BPA, governments and major manufacturers failed to take major steps to reduce BPA exposure until 2008. That year, Canada became the first country to deem BPA a “dangerous substance”, and retailer giants Wal-Mart and Toys-R-Us have phased out baby bottles containing BPA. (source) The trend towards BPA free plastics has grown since then. BPA free means that bisphenol-A has not been used in the manufacturing process of the plastic in question. Is BPA free plastic really safe? (Why you shouldn’t buy “BPA free” plastics) Unfortunately, there are two problems when considering the safety of BPA free plastics. One is that plastics labeled as BPA free have been found to still leach low levels of BPA into the contents of the containers, even in cases of non-polycarbonate plastics. (source) The other is that the chemicals typically used to replace BPA may be just as harmful as BPA. BPA-related chemicals As BPA was phased out, bisphenol-S (BPS) was favored as its replacement. BPS was thought to be more resistant to leaching than its predecessor. This was a mistake. Studies show that an estimated 81% of Americans studied have tested positive for BPS, and a 2013 study has found that even trace levels of BPS can disrupt cellular functioning (source), potentially leading to many of the same health risks as BPA. Some research indicates that BPS may be even more dangerous than BPA in accelerating embryonic neural growth that may lead to hyperactivity later in life. (source) BPS has also been found to incite heart arrhythmias in female rats and interfere with calcium channels due to its estrogenic properties. (source) Bisphenol-F (BPF) is another potential replacement for BPA, but, like BPS, has been found to be just as problematic as BPA in human and animal research (source), though neither chemical has been adequately studied.

@@SkyRiver1 "Hype plastic"? Do you mean HDPE plastic? High-Density Polyethylene. That's the stuff they make a lot of food and beverage containers out of in the mainstream U.S., like milk jugs iirc. Do you have a source you can cite on that being what's used in the EZ-Clone products? Is it on their website or documentation somewhere, or stamped in the recycling symbol on the product itself? Thank you for answering me about this.

Look for food grade plastics. Like the polypropylene PP abbreviation with a number 5 in the center of the recycling logo if it is potentially food grade. Also, check with the manufacturer if it's food safe.

Hmmm, twenty dollars for a 55 gallon tuff tote made of safe polypropylene with a lid that will hold a distributed 900 pounds, or four hundred dollars for a system made from hype plastic that you cannot fit out with the holes you want were you want them? Neither one insulated, both have to be fitted with a drain. Now let me think, twenty dollars . . . four hundred dollars. Hmmm -- hard choice.
