Can't say why you have thought so. This is but a remix on a masterpiece. And people who remember 16-bit era are by definition not too keen on remixes. There is no reason to have a distortion of your beloved song, when you can listen to the original.

Blame the KZbin algorithm that only took a decade to lead me to your channel. Your remixes deserve to be at least in the top 10 in the world of vom remixes. To me it's nr.1.

Excellent interpretation and it deserves more views of course. This could, nah, should have been the official ost for the remasters we got. You're far more skilled than the official sound team that worked on those games.

@@Aeroprism Only if they were completely faithful and did it all cel shade no CGI. Phantasy Star always had a distinct anime style of its own that was separate from the major anime art styles of the time. I don't know if the world is ready for a Phantasy Star remake. It almost feels as though we're in a time where science has promised so much and has failed so many times that the kind of hopeful pure futurism mixed with striking distinctions between light and dark that Phantasy Star represents would be totally lost on a population where science has almost become the new religion and light and dark mean nothing anymore. These games worked well as moral tales, but the world population has little morality and no moral courage. A bold director and writer with the right animation style could turn Phantasy Star into a story vehicle that would blow the socks off of any turnbased jrpg (Persona 5 was a hit) but they would have to have the right motivations and keep the project free from political interference and degeneracy. In other words a one-in-a-million shot to make a worthy successor, but why would Sega spend so much gamer capital making a direct competitor to the tried-and-true Phantasy Star Online?
@Aeroprism3 жыл бұрын
@@robertramsey8871 Quite the summary there. To be fair, you can't compare PS and PSO. PS was a game with a story. PSO (the first) was a loot game. PSO2 and NGS are thinly veiled excuses to roll a pretty character and play dress up. Anyways. I have long since abandoned the idea of a new PS game, or a good remake, or even a bad remake.

@@Aeroprism It's worth the words. Just like the world of JRR Tolkien materialized mostly into the Lord of the Ring Trilogy and The Hobbit, the original Phantasy Star games are a feast for the mind and spirit. When considering if something is going to be legendary later down the road, one has to take in many different aspects and circumstances leading up to the creation of the media. The fact that Phantasy Star one was such a groundbreaking and pioneering title. The fact that it appeared on the Sega Master System rather than Nintendo, meaning that it is as intrinsic to Sega as Super Mario Brothers is to Nintendo. It's high-fantasy but at the same time completely accessible and understandable to most people. The entire sequence of events can easily be transposed into our own solar system. Many of the most important plot points can be imagined happening within several decades if not sooner. Also, whether the evil people controlling our society like it or not, normal people love a black-and-white struggle between light and darkness which this entire campaign was bolted directly onto. Even better, they front-loaded all of the high science-fiction first then came with the Profound Darkness and dark falz. Left field. A very intriguing surprise. Usually when this tactic is employed in modern science fiction it is weighing the morality of human life or some such. Basically eugenicist morality. I agree that the world isn't ready right now but we are on the cusp of another great enlightenment. What you see occurring around the world is not a total breakdown of society leaving nothing, it is a breakdown of an evil society and good people straining to break the chains of forced ignorance and degeneracy. The media that will come immediately after will be legendary as will the real life stories and adventures of the people that lived through it all and came after. There will be such a large market for light based optimistic high fantasy that hasn't been seen since immediately after World War II and the science fiction novels that came from that era period. Obviously these games have influenced me very much, and I'll never stop being an advocate for what they represent. Fortunately the world has been very kind to me financially, so barring the originals, I can absolutely guarantee you there will be spiritual successor (s?)

Is it possible for you to take all of these remixes of Phantasy Star 2 3 Etc and make a Long play video? Even if it's just the original videos upscaled and combined? I genuinely think a video like that could get a lot of traction right now and put a spotlight on your amazing work

Pretty cool mix but the leads are too bassy and stiff sounding, they don't quite mesh with the rest and makes the track feel slower than it is. Some of the backing trance-like leads sound slightly off key in parts too. Your Power/Violation mix is a big improvement over this in sound design.
@Aeroprism8 жыл бұрын
+Alianger Thanks for your feedback! This mix was in 2011, I learned a lot since but you are correct: this is probably my biggest weakness when I mix, I tend to overcrowd the lower-mid range with too much stuff.
@ThatWhiskeylovinAsianGuy5 жыл бұрын
i think your mix should have been on the playstation 2 remake of this game, instead of the one from the game.
