I just finished installing the kit on my Aero Scout. I followed the video, but I didn't have to take out the servos. I was able to install the small plate by dropping it through the round hole in the wood just behind the servos. I used a flat screw driver and a pair of long needle nose pliers. Went together very easy following along with the video. I will post a video on my channel soon. Thanks for making this kit version. It looks great. I can't wait to try it out. Rc ROB

Kudos on the design.

So where did the part that the tail wheel attach to come from? its a little un clear. i didn't see you install that part. I don't have the plane, have been considering getting one. This mod looks cool. i honestly don't like trike gear planes.

@@epoweredrc if you purchase a new AeroScout there is a hole on the bottom of the rudder which has a collar that is connected to the rudders movement. Within the KIN kit there is a piece which is connected to this collar with a single bolt which is also included in the kit. For the older AeroScouts there is no hole to access the rudder and so some additional work is required.

How does the tail wheel link to the rudder? Video does not show.

@@markshtino7429 At some point HobbyZone, who makes the AeroScout, added a port hole to the tail which was intended to be used for the floats they sell. Unfortunately older models do not have this port. Until I come up with a solution for the older models I'd suggest purchasing a tail/wing skid piece from Du-Bros for ~$3. Alternatively you can purchase a replacement fuselage for ~$70 which will have the port hole needed for the tail wheel.

@epoweredrc I recently found a solution for the older models which requires purchasing the water rudder HZ3821, $9, and then following the instructions for the floats set. Google "HBZ3811 floats manual" and go to page #6 to see the process.

I just received the kit, no collar for the tail wheel as some of the other comments. Did anyone come up with a way to make it work? I could do surgery on it if I have to. Asking before I start cutting.

@@jbirdsfpv2713 Others have used a tail/wing skid from Du-Bros which is ~$3. Note that this will have limited control while taxing. If it's within the budget you can also purchase a new fuselage for ~$70 which will have the collar needed.

How did you install the plate inside the plane ?
@KIN_Additive3 ай бұрын
@@arvinpugay2624 Using two hex drivers or two screw drivers you're able to move the peice into position and gently press it through the holes that were drill through the foam prior. It's does take a little patience and thoughtful control.

Can I still use a 2200 mah 3s lipo?
@KIN_Additive2 ай бұрын
Sure can. I used 1300 and 2200 3s's throughout the development process to ensure the 2200 didn't cause any issues.

My plane didn’t come with the collar on the bottom of the rudder. Is that part of the float kit?
@KIN_Additive2 ай бұрын
@@sunstrafer4167 I believe the original Aeroscouts didn't come with the rudder control port for the floats. People have installed the tail dragger kit without the tail wheel and they say they still have good control on the ground.
@sunstrafer41672 ай бұрын
@@KIN_Additive yeah mine has the tube, but it’s recessed and no collar. Thanks!

@@sunstrafer4167 That collar peice is suppose to be pre installed from the factory. It doesn't come with the floats and it seems that you would have to buy a new body to get that collar. I'll see if this is something I can 3D print.
