Agree. Let's face it, Aerosmith has no hits in the last 20 years. The only studio album in two decades is "Music From Another Dimension", which is barely represented in this new compilation. "We All Fall Down" is there in the deluxe version, but that wasn't even a single. It's likely the single versions and radio edits are there just to don't run out of space in the disc. Instead of buying this, I highly recommend anyone make a playlist in Spotify or KZbin so you can hear the full versions of the songs, or check out on the shelf, I bet we all have at least a couple Aerosmith compilations somewhere.

"We All Fall Down" from Music From Another Dimension is featured on the deluxe edition. My biggest complaint about this compilation (other than they now have more hits compilations than studio albums) is that it has edited versions of "Crazy", "Livin On the Edge", "Angel", "What It Takes", & "Same Old Song and Dance." They also have a live version of "Rag Doll." Also different versions of "Just Push Play" & "Pink." I wish they had included songs on the deluxe including: "No More No More", "Rats In the Cellar", "No Surprize", "Come Together", "Chip Away the Stone", "Deuces Are Wild", Hole In My Soul", "What Kind Of Love Are You On", "Baby Please Don't Go" "Grind", & "What Could've Been Love." My personal favorite compilation that has been released was "Oh Yeah The Ultimate Aerosmith because it was the most complete with full length versions of songs spanning their entire career up to that point - this was later available as The Essential Aerosmith but it's the same album. You cannot stream this one or Young Lust: Anthology (later sold as Aerosmith: Gold. I agree with you I wish we could've got a new song on this latest compilation. I personally prefer these type of compilations in chronological order.

I have the Aerosmith greatest hits 3 disc deluxe set which has 44 songs which I love and there is a song from the last studio album they released which was music from another dimension and it was we all fall down

That Pandora's Box promo disc is cool. Got a similar cd for the Journey Time3 box set which is a great selection of tracks and saves you cracking the box set out every time ☺

The three disk version which I’ve already ordered. it’s their best “best of” release so far! It includes almost all the albums and it covers their career much more thoroughly! The one disc versions rarely do justice to a band’s career, they usually include the most well known hits and that’s it or if the label that releases the best of album doesn’t have the rights to all the songs they use live versions of them which I hate to see!

Brendon, Just got my 3-disc version today from Amazon. The sound is pristine. My guess it is from the newly remastered versions. Not a huge fan of single edits, like Kings and Queens. I can live with it, though. I am going to try to resist re-buying the albums. I love the sound, but I already own the Box of Fire set. If they package a few into one set, maybe. But of course, I don't trust myself to stick to this, so I'll probably buy up to Night in the Ruts. I will report back if I give in to temptation.

Brendon my favorite was Gems. This included a very underrated song Chip Away the Stone. I was bummed that this new greatest hits didn’t include this song or Deuces Are Wild. Huge hit! Anyway great review.

Great video! Interestingly, I actually prefer compilations done in chronological order. I opted not to get this new release, since I already own almost all of the Aerosmith catalog. I was interested in how well the remaster was done. Lately, some of these new remasters have been letdowns, with me finding them brickwalled and not sounding good to me (such as the new Kiss Creatures of the Night remaster, which for me, pales in sound to the 90s remaster of it).

Actually, I think they did a pretty good job on the remasters, but yeah, I own all other albums and I have no desire to purchase anymore. I did buy the three disk version of this new greatest hits however because of how well it sounds.

That was a new track from the original Greatest Hits released in 1980. They didn’t include any of the new songs from past Greatest Hits and Best Of collections. Probably to keep those viable and to continue to sell.

The first rock record I ever really listened to because my brother owned it. Is this and rush moving pictures. First thing I bought on my own with hysteria by def Leppard. But that classic greatest hits with the red album cover and dream on, a same old song and dance as the first 2 songs...classic.

Yeah I agree I think they had NO input on this, I think mainly they are doing this farewell and walking away, I think it took a lot to get them to do this last tour/shows but that's another story. It almost seems like a "Fill out your contract" kind of release, it's tied to the tour but also the fall/holidays coming. I did get the 3cd set on this mainly because there was a price drop as it came out.

Capital owns the Aerosmith catalog. The sound quality is excellent. The problem with the three disc version, Kings and Queens is edited. Disc one and Two are excellent. Disc 3 has 14 songs, in my opion ten of these songs never should of been included. What's missing is One way Street, No more, No more, Round and Round, Rats in the cellar. The real tragedy is the edit of Kings and Queens. The best song they ever did.

Personally I think they should have had at least one song from every album. The CD discs should have more tracks filling up the full time of the disc. Or the band should have gone to 4 CDs and made a real boxset. The whole thing is just underdone and not well thought out IMO. But it does sound good.

@@BrendonSnyder I agree with a four disc set. I saw the band come up through Detroit, Michigan the bar circuit, then they started backing up bands at the Michigan Palace. I saw them back up Roy Buchanan at the Palace, they backed up Iggy and the Stooges. They hit the big time with "Toys in the Attic" They headlined the old Cobo Hall, where the Pistons use to play. They kinda lost me as a fan after the "Draw the line" record. The bluray releases of live at Donnington and Rock for the Rising Sun remind me of the band in their "Hard Rock" era.

I hate compilations that have radio edits , when I bought my first Aerosmith record and heard the full versions it was like I was getting something extra , just good memories for me so radio edits feel like I’m missing out on something even if it’s not detrimental to the song

There's only one from the last album on the 3CD called "We All Fall Down." I asked my dad to get it and I'll pay him back Monday and played through it all yesterday since it came by Amazon. There's only 1 thing I don't like about it and that is the Kings and Queens single being on here and not the full album version of it. Another is Rag Doll being live, but I can deal with that.

It’s just personal preference. I like single disc comps better than multi-disc comps. In terms of bang for your buck, often times the multi-disc is better. Often I buy them both. But I own too many comps from Aerosmith to warrant buying both the single disc and the triple disc.

I am not that great of a fan of Aerosmith. However, I have a few a-ha compilations. The newest one I purchased at Sound Exchange last year it’s a greatest hits, but it’s backwards. What I mean by that it doesn’t start with the 80’s out it starts with current day and goes reverse order. Then I have 3 others. If I don’t want to listen to an album in order I shuffle the cd. They are the singles, 25 and Headlines and Deadlines. My favorite one I have is Headlines and Deadlines. It’s a nostalgia thing. And that’s the first one I bought.

They whole things seems a little half-asses IMO. It’s a good collection if you’re new to the band. But they really shouldn’t be releasing anything at this point that doesn’t speak to their fan base from the last 50 years. It’s sort of a slap in the face.

Appreciate the video, but personally I am Aerosmith’d out when it comes to hits packages. If there was something new, unreleased, extra… maybe I’d grab it but as is I don’t need another greatest hits. Plus I am one of those that actually likes the “deeper” cuts over the hits so, appreciate the 50yrs and mad respect, but nah. Not for me.

I grew up with Aerosmith being in my teens in the 70's so I'm really partial to their first five albums to be honest. Not saying I don't like their music going forward after 'Draw the Line' but, for me, as time went on they really did sell themselves out commercially. Songs like 'Pink' and 'Jaded' I cringe when I hear them. And it's not like the band hadn't done ballads in the past either. They've always has a ballad on an album but as time went on those ballads lost their rawness and became very polished. Maybe it's just me but the albums I continue to listen to are those first five albums that made Aerosmith.

I think it's really missing rats in the cellar, girls of summer and hole in my soul in the 3 cd version. I like the tracklist overall but I think that these three tracks should have been there, and maybe also legendary child which is a good song and would have included also their last studio record. There is no point in celebrating a 50 year anniversary if you don't cover all the albums

Lots of reasons. A different sequence of songs is a different listening experience. Lots of the songs are edits and single versions which aren’t on the albums. They’re all mastered at the same sound level which also creates a different listening experience from the album. But mostly because I’m a collector and a completist. When an album is only $10, that’s nothing. I spend more on my lunch each day. So for me it’s not a waste.

Now, no cars have CD players, home is for vinyl albums and stream on the go. Realistically, CD is part of the digital format. A great, long lasting, quality format nonetheless.

For my opinion, only is my opinion, ok, it´s too bad the set list selection for this album. The gratest hits, PANDORA´S BOX , was 70´s pure aerosmith the Columbia Records era, and ALSOS, was the excelent live compilation the Geffen era, album lika to, Permanent, Pump & Grip. This last 50 years greatest hits realease, not contain escencial tracks the various albums, like tha Night in the ruts & Rock in a hard place, and great songs from Done with mirrors, vacation and 9 lives. As much as I'm a huge fan of Aerosmith I'm extremely disappointed about this particular greatest hits album. First off they do not include any music from "Honkin on Bobo", "Rock in a Hard Place" or "Night in The Ruts. There were other awesome songs such as "Come Together" and "Chip away the Stone" that was ignored. Also the radio edits are terrible because they cut off some important parts of the track.

My hang up is there is nothing from night in the ruts or rock in a hard place they totally skipped those two albums no surprize tells the story of Aerosmith that should've been on this compilation as well as something from rock in a hard place and also they should've included moving out which is the first song that Tyler and Joe perry recorded so those are my hang ups but it's Aerosmith I have to pick it up take care Brendon great video
