There's a way to play this same verse right using the A string on the 3rd fret and then cross-picking the G string, pulling off on the 2nd fret, and then 5th, 3rd, 2nd for the last part of that riff. It's MUCH easier to me than trying to play this all up on the 8th fret.

Instead of having to reach your pinky out to the 13th fret on the A you can just play the 8th fret on the D string, your index is already barred on 8 so it's an alright workaround. Sounds virtually the same as well.

@@alexc656 No problem! I have a stubby pinky finger so I'm used to finding the alternate way around that stuff 😅 Paul Gilbert has the most ridiculously long pinky finger I've seen. Looks like a freakin alien

@@GiveSic lol. I'm only 4 months into guitar and I'm still having some trouble stretching my pinky to the extended fret. Even if I do reach it I sometimes tend to buzz out that string because I can't get a good placement on it. I just need more practice
