What i love about spray paint art it doesn’t have to be exact it can be your own style and look unique.

Its also immediate gratification, you can go from blank canvas to something that looks profound and technicalin a minute

You’ll see the flaws in your own work way more than anyone else ever will. That’s the artist’s mental struggle lol. Thanks for painting along

Hey this was super helpful. I’m building a rocket ship treehouse for my son, and did a galaxy ceiling. I wasn’t sure if this would wrk the same since the scale was much larger and the material was different (wood) It came out very well.

I use a little clay modeling tool to sign but you can use any somewhat pointed object. Thanks for watching!

came looking for galaxy inspiration in reviving a set of old grey metal folding chairs..something to help prevent rust and fun to look at. Any advice? I dont have all these colors...can i use regular acrylic paint for some of the colors? allowing them to dry/cure and clear coat is important..

Hi thank you for this great tutorial it really made me feel inspired . I wanted to make a full bar counter with galaxy and planets, but after seing this I want to paint it with trees and a horizon instead. Is it possible to paint a large surface with the same teqnique or will parts of the painting dry to fast? My bar counter is 60cm by 300cm

are you using gloss spray paint or satin spray paint
@L1veAuth3nticallyN0w4 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry if you've already answered this question somewhere. I was wondering why you always paint with gloss? After watching your videos I went out and picked up paint and paper. I've been having so much fun! thank you for posting the tutorials.
@shillen652 жыл бұрын
Awesome, Pal! Short question: did I unterstand it right, you are using gloss paint? And is it acrylic paint? Or nitrobased? I´m looking forward watching your other videos too. :-) Big Thumbs up!!
@1052scot13 жыл бұрын
Just a few questions for you. Have you ever sprayed paint on canvas? Dies the paint stick or over time might peel off. Why use gloss black? When you look into the night sky it looks more flat black. I hv painted on canvas with oils never a spray paint do you hv tutorials on painting on canvas? Thanks.

Your videos are awesome, I’m pretty new to this way of painting and I’m really loving it, your videos have been priceless in my little journey so thank you! I have a quick question though, how do you display them, I learned the hard way after I got paid a decent amount for one I did, and I thought well she’s actually paying for it I should at least put it in a frame! Don’t know if I need to wait longer (it was about 36hrs) or what but the sticky ness of the paint stuck to the glass in weird ways, so if you can’t frame em, what do you do?
@Aerosotle5 жыл бұрын
I’d give the piece a solid 72 hours maybe even more before shipping or framing when glass is involved. It all depends really. Temperature when drying, humidity and even amount of paint used are all variables. Safest thing is to wait as long as possible before shipping, framing or stacking (I’ve lost so many paintings to this 🤦🏻♂️) Thanks for watching
@deborahmusgrove59373 жыл бұрын
How do you paint indoors when the temp outside is too cold for spray paint?
@Aerosotle3 жыл бұрын
I have typically operated out a heated garage in the winter months. Always be sure to wear a respirator, especially in closed spaces. Winter sucks as it makes spray painting significantly more challenging.

Mike, since this is a tutorial I hope you don't mind if I throw in a few suggestions for others trying to learn this art. first, in the beginning it's inevitable you're going to waste some posterboard so to save some money while you are learning the posterboard you can get from Dollar Tree works ok and is about the same size as the walmart stuff but only cost 50 cents each. if you're watching Mikes tutorials you are probably also watching tutorials by other artists, so probably the most important tip I can share is the one i wished i would have known in the beginning, don't get frustrated when you try to do the things that other artist like Skech make look so easy but don't turn out so good for you, there's a secret to they're paintings that they aren't sharing. Most of them use expensive specialty artist spray paints that you can't get at your local home depot, that's what Mike is referring too with his fire hose comments, compared to the low pressure easier to control paints they are using, the spray paints from home depot and walmart spray out like fire hoses which makes precise control and limiting over spray a real challenge, also the store bought paints like Rustolium are made to dry as fast as possible while the artist paints they use are mixed to dry slower giving more time to work the paint. so don't give up on yourself if you find yourself struggling with store bought paints, I guarantee, you take away Skech's cheater paints, throw a can of Rustolium in his hand and he'll struggle too...
@Aerosotle5 жыл бұрын
Very good tip with the Dollar store posterboard. My only gripe with it is how flimsy that posterboard is compared to Art Skills. Perfect for practising with, but not as durable over the long term.If you have solid can control you'll find you're able to use different brands with ease as you get used to how they spray and react. This absolutely takes serious time and practice so you're spot on, DONT GET DISCOURAGED! It will come with enough time and practice.Love the advice! This is a community for spray paint artist's and I love hearing everyone tips & tricks. Wish we had a bit more discussion in the comments, maybe its time for our very own Aerosotle subreddit or something?Thanks for contributing!

Good stuff buddy! I always find it uncanny that I can paint a galaxy in a few minutes but a human face is nigh on impossible... I guess if I painted a human face from a distance of five thousand light years it might be a bit easier ;) Cheers from sunny Scotland!
