It's amazing these stories were known and read throughout the history of rome, Caesar and cleopatra, Jesus, muhammad, the black death, the Renaissance and reformation, the train, the car, internet... people have always been intelligent and wise, however knowledge and uncertainty shift through time.

what a delight to re hear these true jems! just love the fable the wolf & the lamb... the tyrant will never give justice to the oppressed! This is today’s devotion... We’ve had in short succession 2020 one injustice after the other! Capitalism is no just system to the all! but of course the ruling class would disagree 100% arrr the truth is mired in suit & guff 😖 great upload

at least we are still subject to war, just like back then. dont forget aesop is also just retelling the stories mostly from carthage after alexandria burned. a kind of re-establishment in a way. we're lucky to hear the old stories at all
@spiritofmodernity96793 жыл бұрын
@@benjaminhoover6427 Aesop was living way before Alexandria burned. And he was nowhere near Carthage. He came from Samos and died in Delphi. He was in the 6th century BC, during the time of Croesus of Lydia.

1:25:57 The Fowler story is not the original from Aesop. As you can tell they didn't have guns in 600bc. This version was written in the 1700s. In Aesops tale the Fowler is setting bird traps. And steps on a snake who bites him.
