This song has the same vibes as I Got a Boy (SNSD), Red Light (Fx) and Zimzalabim (Red Velvet) known as the "Bohemian Rhapsody of KPop", apparently SM liked that formula (mixing many different sounds/rhytms in the same song, just like Queen did with Bohemian Rhapsody). Personally, I consider this as something quite daring for SM to make their artists sing this type of songs, and obviously, their artists are quite versatile, for the simple fact that no matter how weird/messy the song is, it ends up working and being liked. SMCU (SM Culture Universe) was made by SM's founder & CEO Lee Soo Man back in 2016. This "culture universe" indicates the beginning of the company's "new vision". The first project of SM under SMCU is Aespa. But the storyline didn't end with Aespa, SM stans already knew that "culture universe" were once mentioned by SM way back in 1990's, but for some reason SM didn't really push this new strategy not until 2020 by creating Aespa. "Kwangya". This was first used in 1990's by the first kpop groups of SM, then in NCT, Aespa & EXO. There are 2 worlds exists in SMCU: 📍 The real world. The world we lived in with real humans. 📍Kwangya. the world of avatars. (This where the AI and the villains live). SM wanted to have all their groups came to "Kwangya" to experience new world. This is why groups like EXO, Red Velvet, SuperM, NCT & Aespa are all part of SMCU. SMCU's over-all concept is adopted to Marvels Cultural Universe (wherein there's a hero and villain in the storyline). Marvels and SM had a collaboration and that leads in creating a new group in 2019 called SuperM (the avengers of Kpop). But before SuperM, Marvels already worked with SM after seeing EXO's El Dorado performance with lightsabers, Marvels contacted SM to have a collaboration with EXO and in 2015 they dropped EXO's Lightsaber (Star Wars Collaboration).

aespa is extending their universe with this video. They are basically trying to reconnect with those characters. They're called "aes" and they're formed from the data people post on social media. However, since the posts people post on social media are usually edited and photoshopped, the aes are nearly perfect, we all tend to post the best of our lives on social media. Black Mamba is a virus which is disconnecting them from their aes. They are trying to beat it because it's causing a global digital apocalypse as it's impacting all data. This is all explained in their 10-minute long SMCU teaser trailer. SMCU stands for "SM (the name of the company) Culture Universe.' aespa's debut had been teased in SuperM's One (Monster&Infinity), NCT U's Make A Wish and the shocase performance of Irene and Seulgi's Monster. There are references to KWANGYA (the plane of existence of aes) in NCT's songs such as, your favorite, '90's Love. It's theorized that SMCU's inception is actually with that video, as SM had been formed in the '90's. It is further theorized that they traveled back in time with the help of WayV in TBT, Kai found KWANGYA because in the EXO universe he has the power of teleportation, which is carried over to SuperM, as shown in teasers and Jopping. Wendy's Like Water makes mention of wanting to meet someone again and it perfectly coincides with NingNing's line in Black Mamba in which she refers to wanting to reconnect with her ae. It's... Mind-blowing how they've come up with all of this and kept it under our noses for a whole year.

SInce you don't know about IKON so as a short backstory you must know that B.I was known for being a prodigy, genius writer and composer and leader of IKON (composed all of IKON songs until he had to leave --- Check out their Rhythm Ta, Bling Bling, Goodbye Road, Killing me, I'm Ok, Love Scenario , all written and composed by B.I btw ) and as a rapper is known for his lyrical rapping- a lot more focus is on the lyrics than anything else. This is full on anime protagonist story going on in K-pop world right now, you must check him out. Full album will be out on 1st June. He released a global single a week ago as a collab with Destiny Rogers and Tyla Yaweh titled Got it Like That. And just now he has released a performance video of a new single Waterfall titled 'Waterfall Live Video' and has english captions which need to be on.
