Written pattern (for me): (UK terms) • ch = chain • ss = slip stitch • tr = treble crochet • dc = double crochet • htr = half treble crochet FIRST ROW: 1) ch 5 2) ss in first stitch to make circle 3) ch 3 and turn work so circle is on right-hand side 4) 2 tr in first stitch 5) 3 tr into magic circle 6) ch 1 7) 3 more tr in circle 8) 3 tr in last stitch SECOND ROW: 9) ch 3 and turn work 10) 2 tr in first stitch 11) tr in each stitch until reach the ch 1 space 12) in the ch 1 space, 2 tr, ch 1, 2 more tr in same space 13) tr in each stitch along until (and excluding) last stitch 14) 3 tr in last stitch THIRD ROW: 15) 1 tr in first stitch 16) ch 1 17) skip 1 stitch and tr in next stitch 18) repeat steps 16-17 until reach the ch 1 space at the top 19) In the ch 1 space, do 1 tr, ch 1, then another tr 20) continue doing ch 1 and tr in every other stitch along row (2 tr in instead of 1 in last stitch) FOURTH & FIFTH ROW: 21) 3 tr in first stitch, and then 1 tr in each stitch (inc ch spaces) until ch 1 space at top 22) at the top (the corner) do 2 tr, ch 1, 2 more tr 23) 1 tr in each stitch along other side, and 3 tr in last stitch 24) repeat steps 21-23 for next row NEXT ROWS: 25) ch 3 and 1 tr in same stitch 26) ch 1 and skip 2 stitches 27) 3 tr in next stitch 28) repeat steps 26-27 until top (corner) 29) at top in the ch 1 space, 2 tr, ch 1, 2 more tr in same space 30) repeat steps 26-27 on other side until end (2 tr in last stitch not 1) 31) repeat steps 25-30 for all the next rows (keep in mind to tr in the chain spaces and skip the cluster stitches) until bandana reaches desired size - it will roughly be about 6-8 rows but this is adjustable PICOT EDGING FINISH: 32) ch 1 33) 1 dc in next stitch 34) ch 3 and ss in the dc stitch 35) dc in each stitch of the tr cluster 36) repeat steps 33-34 in ch space for picot edging 37) repeat steps 33-36 until reach top 38) in that corner, 1 dc in each stitch, create another picot in the ch space (so dc then ch 3 then ss in dc) 39) continue doing the picot edge until the end STRAPS (I changed it from her pattern to my own preferred one): 40) ch until desired length (maybe about 40-50 ch?) 41) ch 1 and then htr in each stitch until end 42) ss to join and then 1 dc in each stitch along straight edge until other end 43) do the other strap by ch desired length and then htr in each stitch until end and then ss to join 44) fasten off and weave in ends
