This was so similar to my idea for an orchard but I'm so bad at terraforming so I learned a lot from you. I originally was going to do a large two tier semi circle neighborhood with every two hours sharing a garden courtyard with flowers and trees. That way I'd have a place for all generation 1 flowers and also the fruit trees without taking a chunk out of my island. But then I got hooked on the orchard idea that I want to couple with a farm area. I make a dirt path garden square that's fenced in for my turnips every week. So i'll have houses set into the cliffsides of the orchard and some around the farm as well. Thanks for the tips :)

You can also terraform over holes when getting rid of a cliff so you can just keep the hole that you dug up the flowers from!!

Lex makes the best speed builds by far. I have a quick question. Is it better in your opinion or from your experience to completely flatten an island, partially flatten or just work as you go along? Sorry if this is a weird question, feel free to ignore!

I'm glad you enjoy them! personally, I don't have the patience to flatten an island. If I have a complete island, I just restart, and if I have a new island, I edit the natural rivers and cliffs as I go :) It seems less intimidating than a totally blank canvas, but you just gotta figure out what works best for you
