With combat differences it's sad cause it shows their styles were meant to support each other's blind spots. Aether more defensive while Lumine's more aggressive attacker. But over time you see your twin slowly changing to compensate abyss twin absence.😢❤. Gestures and action don't stop there for differences too. There's dialog differences also with clear personality differences which I love. For example Aether loves summer and Pyro slimes while Lumine is a winter lover preferring cryo and cryo slimes. It's always so fun seeing their differences. ❤❤❤

While I agree that generally Aether adopts a more defensive stance, that's not always the case. For example, search for the Fake Albedo fight cutscene, during that fight Lumine's blows are comparatibly softer than her brother's. What I also noticed is that Aether has more strenght in his arms, he'll generally use hands more in his combat animations eg. when the geo traveler is bursting Aether will punch the ground while Lumine prefers to stomp on it since she has more leg strenght. To me it's very interesting how each sibling has a unique trait like this 😊

I think, that's just because of the slightly different facial features. Aether doesn't smile, but his mouth is drawn differently. Also, the ring Lumina's eyes make her gaze look more sad... Btw... Why do they have different eyes? Weird...

Is also a reflex on Hoyo itself; by the time they were developing Genshin they were basically a waifu game company so his model is way less flashed out than hers. Compare him with Gaming or Wanderer and the improvement is clear.

I love the twins so much! I love their differences! I am glad I chose Lumine in my main account. I love everything about her. Her expressions, her voice, her awesomely cute eyes, her hair. She is my favorite girl. And then I like Abyss Aether so much, he is so beautiful and calm. In my side account I got Aether (my pretty boy💖) and as much as I love his outfit and expressions, Lumine will always be my favorite MC🥲💖. HOYO WE WANT THE TWINS TO REUNITE AND HAVE A HAPPY ENDING😭💖

I feel the story is much more suited to him with how it has progressed from 1.0 til now. He had so little expressions and it suited to the narrative, rather than Lumine which was "much more" expressive making the narrative not properly fit her in the same manner

Honestly, it's not even that, it's just the dress or the fact they have a different face 95% of the time. Half the time people claim Lumine has a different expression, meanwhile she doesn't have an expression at all, that's just her face being different. And then leg poses being different are almost always because the camera angle would look right up her dress if they didn't change it, and we know they animate Aether first so they're not gonna go back and change Aether to match Lumine's anti-upskirt-alterations.

Aether's expressions always read as weird to me. His eye brows and lack of eyelids though not bad just don't do it for me. He always seems so stiff in the ingame engine cutscenes as a result.

I always feel like Aether represents the mc's mindset better, while hes certainly having fun on his adventure and enjoying it the only time his emotions are on full display is when someone is in danger or hes seeing his sibling, after all our character is on a world he doesn't know where he was attacked and seperated from his family for no reason and has been lied to and betrayed more than a few times, while hes certainly trying to enjoy life a small part of him is always reserved due to his grief and worry, hence why he isnt as animate as lumine

In Passing memories Aether is the Traveler and in Unawekened dream Lumine is the Princess of the abyss or Queen I would have given the dark queen a long dress with a slit and high heels instead of ankle boots I had two ideas for boss battles... in both cases the Traveler automatically participates Aether faces the dark queen during, the battle summons 7 pawn-like creatures: 2 Rooks, 2 Knights, 2 Bishops and 1 King each with a different attribute, he has 7 allies per attribute Lumine in a mental or dimensional space Both summon a creature full of energy, a gold and silver dragon and a dark chimera that collide, then return to their masters and fuse with them... in fantastic animal hybrid versions of Sam's armor ( Star Rail ), then they cross their swords and you see the two Lumine naked inside (like Firefly) and the evil one will be covered by long hair The controllable one can use 7 weapons and powers, per attribute

seeing these differences, whilst some are minor details and "fun things" to see. this just makes me even more certain that narratively, Aether is the "true" traveller. as his expressions have expanded over time and it fits much more to the narrative with the progress rather than Lumine, which has had "the same amount" and doesn't seem to develope in the same way along the plotline

Lumine is slightly more popular, actually (globally). Maybe because the player base more female and they chose naturally rhe female MC? Some claim that Aether is canon Traveler, because the promo clips have him in that role. But they just had to pick one of them and they cannot switch or we'll never know which one is the Abyss twin... I think, they chose Aether because of the black outfit looking better in most surroundings... But likely it makes no difference

As a girl with short hair i'd say quiet the opposite. I think it's a big W, a lot more easy to handle, looks great and tbh powerfull, and could be both masc and very fem.
