one thing Godfather Nico though - out here in Manila, the aethos is soooooooo prevalent on the roads. its rarely you dont catch one on the streets of manila on a routine ride.

Chalk this up as another great comparison...since your first Aethos review, I have built up an Aethos S Works, with SRAM AXS groupo, Forest green with the gold fork tips....its been six months on it and few thousand clicks and it truly is one of the best bikes I have ridden. Agree on climbing prowess, but something I was not expecting was the stability and handling on high speed descents. Can not see myself on another bike for some time. Interesting point, I have two sets of wheels for the Aethos, 55mm with 25c for the flats and 35mm with Spec. Turbo cottons for the climbing days....the wheels really show case the versatility of the bike.

Nice comparison. For me personally the bikes are very close and hard to choose which one to take out for a ride, as all of them want to be the bike to rule them all. Therefore, I couldn’t argue to keep all of them ;) The sl7 with the same geometry as the aethos and only a few aero elements somehow is between aero and race. The melee between race and gravel. That’s why I own a s-works aethos as it fits more the hilly terrain I’m living (the alps). However, my second bike would be a Scott Foil RC 2023, as its easier to decide between those two. Do I want to get fast in the group ride or tour with friends or attack the next KOM. By the way my weight is 90 kg and I drive the aethos very hard. It’s very durable / robust.

Aethos non Sworks for me, Ultegra Mech Build, Zipp 303S wheels and 30 mm Schwalbe Pro Ones, 16.5#s w an ergo carbon bar, and $2200 less frame cost for sensationally light build and about 100 grams or less in my instance as it is naked carbon, than the S works. Simple, refined, beautiful. Not a fan of the integrated and proprietary everything.

I don't understand how a bike that is described as having understeer can also be the best handling bike. You want oversteer from a performance car/bike. Understeer is not good. Also, would it be ridiculous to get an aethos and then put reserve 50-60mm rims on it?
