Installing mine that I bought from Northridge on black Friday today on my gladiator. Very handy that you guys just put out this video this week. Nice tips and it should be a very helpful video!

After starting my own installation I realized why you installed the tow loops and then removed them for several of the subsequent steps. In order to get the tow loops rotated up and over the bumper weldment they would have had to been installed already halfway rotated. Also, if you install the light bar bracket below the winch plate those brackets get in the way of accessing the large tow loop bolt. Either way, I'm figuring it out. The little trick with chasing the screwdriver through the tow loop worked out great!

That was definitely a tricky part of the install. We had to do that a few times to get the right order!

I think the biggest factor is that AEV's bumper is very close to 3 times the cost of the ARB bumper. Personally I don't think it's 3 times better. You can guess where my money would be spent.....

Agreed… I have the ARB stubby mated w ARB Intensity Lighting and am extremely satisfied, bar none.

Wish I would have watched this video before I installed my AEV-EX bumper. Nice video. The AEV written instructions are horrible. While I love the looks of this bumper and was disappointed to learn that my PIAA driving lights won't fit on the AEV hoop. Sadly, there does not seem to be a universal mount for any other lights except the AV-7000 at a another $1,200+....

Great installation video - very thorough! It is hard to tell from video angle - I don't think this truck has the front trail camera, but do you think that bar would block it?

AEV says it is compatible with the front Trail Camera; ours doesn't have one, so we couldn't tell you from first hand experience.

Just installed the AEV EX on my Gladiator. Love the look and the finish, but the installation is VERY tedious and frustrating.

do you need a power regulator in installing the 7000 light series of aev? and can you use 1 factory aux line to connect both off road lights? im running it in jeep 392 2024.

We wired those lights in an sPOD and didn't need anything extra when running those AEV lights.

So honest question...a lot of JL bumpers work with JK's. Is there any backwards compatibility with this one or is it just for JL's and Gladiators?

We haven't tried that swap so unfortunately we can't answer that. We would guess that it would take a bit of work. The JK doesn't have those horns that hang down that the tow loops bolt through.

How much more does this bumper weigh compared to the OEM sport bumper? With and without the winch you're using here

It is going to come in right around 100 lbs. Winch depends on the model. We used the Warn VR 10-S w/ synthetic rope, which weighs around 60lbs.
