I’ll lay it out right now as to why this show has fallen off a cliff since ‘20-‘22… The novelty of a new mainstream wrestling show/company has finally worn off. Extreme overexposure due to Collision and Rampage (and ROH) making Dynamite not feel special anymore. The roster is not nearly as good as it once was (Cody, Punk, Bryan, Omega, Sting, Penta/Fenix, etc are all long gone or long term injury). “Pillar” wrestlers like Sammy Guevara, Jungle Boy, and Britt Baker no longer feel like huge future stars, are now just bodies on the roster (even MJF has felt like a shell of himself this year). There are also so many wrestlers who have been criminally misused, like Okada, Athena, Wardlow, you could even argue Mercedes, even though she’s a champion right now. And the number one reason for me: Dynamite just isn’t must-see TV anymore. When I tuned in during those first few years, it felt like a can’t miss show almost every Wednesday, because you never knew what was going to happen. It had almost an Attitude Era vibe in that sense for those 2-3 years. And now, it just feels like a mostly skippable 2 hour Rampage, where it’s just people having mostly meaningless matches, just because. Roderick Strong and Wheeler Yuta can go out there and have a 4 star match, but who's going to care if they’re just wrestling for the sake of having a match, especially when there are 5 other such back and forth matches just like it on the same night? And when they DO try to run an interesting angle, like Mox “taking over TBS”, it’s a complete joke that was obviously just a ratings hook. I just don’t know how TK can turn this around to what it once was, because there are so many of these factors working against them now. I sure hope he can prove me wrong, because there are still a lot of people on that roster I really like to watch perform, and I want this company around and THRIVING for many years to come.

@Dove0faction11 күн бұрын
Couldn’t put it any better the Novelty has definitely worn off, putting 4 to 5 star matches with no build or storyline behind it is what has created this cold reaction towards the product, case in point they bring Ricochet over and right away have him on a one on one match with Will Osprey, no build, no story, no reason, just put these two out there because they can put a great match together…look at what WWE has done with Jacob Fatu, they created this believable bad ass who has yet to have one singles match because they want to save him for something that will keep the fans interested especially with a possible Jacob/Roman match that will be money…If Jacob went to AEW his stock and interest among the fans would of plummeted within weeks

I know there's a level of turning off a chunk of logic and reason when watching wrestling, but there's still supposed to be a sense of things adding up with what you're exposed to. There's no rhyme or reason for anything that happens now, even from an escapism sense. It really is just banging action figures together.

Love MJF, but he’s definitely leaning too hard into ‘say something super edgy and shocking’ in a lot of his promos. I mean, does this ‘feud’ with Strong really warrant him saying his mom should have shot him instead of his father? No, it’s just shock for the sake of shock, and it rings very hollow when you realize how lackluster and meaningless this feud with Strong is. When Drew told Punk he wants to beat him til his heart stops; it held weight because of their heated long term blood feud. But when you have MJF saying these outlandish things, it just comes off cringe and desperate for a cheap pop

I've been watching the segments play out and it still feels like I somehow missed 5 months worth of story, like we're speedrunning what you expect to happen. We've gone from Kamille looking competent to her bumbling around, fucking everything up and looking like a goob. And Mercedes treats her like a useless lackey because... I dunno, that's what a CEO does or something? I actually watched most of the show last night for the first time in awhile and it just seemed so lifeless from start to finish even people who normally get decent reactions got nothing like Ospreay and Adam Cole. Just a boring product that really sold me on nothing seriously why should anyone want to watch this ppv or spend money on it? Im sure it will be good as most AEW ppvs are but the tv is so terrible and they do a bad job hyping you up to watch their big shows. Idk what the F has happened to this company I don't think Tony truly cares anymore I really think he's just basically pulling a Vince in his later years where all he cares about is putting on wrestling HE wants to watch with characters HE cares about and could give a shit less about putting out a product that actually attracts viewers. I have no problem with Orange Cassidy he is a great wrestler but I can't take him serious he should not be a main eventer he's a comedy act nothing wrong with that R Truth has had a great career with it but to try to take him as a serious threat to Moxley is delusional AF. Not sure what they need to do to change there's so many things but the main thing is to admit YOU HAVE A PROBLEM and not that everything is "great" nobody can be that blind not even Tony. Just really frustrated as a fan because I've seen them at their best and it was amazing and just to see how far they've fallen in such a small time is crazy maybe even a bigger collapse than WCW had. I hope they can turn it around but until Tony is ready to admit he has a problem than it's hopeless and nothing will change.

LOL, How is this a "breath of fresh air" ? When they are copying the same story the Bucks did months ago

AEW are indeed very cold but they aren't doomed in any way, WWE were relatively even colder in the months before Vince left, and WWE's creative was way worse then than Aew now. As with WWE it can be rescued.

Very true, but wwe had 3 decades of equity built in on top of the global reach they had even when they were at their worst creatively. AEW isn't a new company, but it is still relatively young at only 5 years. Which makes it even sadder when you compare them with other companies like TNA were when they hit the 5 year mark in 2007. AEW has dozens of times the money and global reach TNA had back then and TK could buy their roster a dozen times over, yet TNA in 2007 was absolutely on fire while AEW is already on the verge of needing a WCW style reboot. It's maddening
