AEW Fight Forever Is Beyond Saving

AEW Fight Forever recently released their season 3 DLC, with new wrestlers and new maps. Now I am someone who actually likes fight forever gameplay wise and I can have fun playing it, but I have the same criticism of everyone else that this game does not have enough content and they aren’t quick enough at releasing new content and as a result like many others I got bored of the game. So I thought I’d come back to fight forever and try out the new season 3 DLC, see if it’s worth it and maybe if there’s any chance it can help save this game or if there’s anything at all that can save this game.

This only got made because Kenny Omega is a video game enthusiest and he thought AEW has earned their own video game even when the company was still very new. This is why Tony needs to grow a spine, had he told Kenny "no" he would've saved a bunch of money and could've wait to see if there's an actual demand for an AEW video game rather than letting Kenny do whatever the fuck he wants. Also, even if he was ok with it after seeing how shitty the game looks (like legit looks like a ps2 game) and the absurd dlc prices he should've made a decision to shift the development team or at least make sure someone supervises this crap.

It’s an incredible failure I rarely see talked about. A billion dollar company with executives that are genuinely interested in video games. They’re astute enough to know people yearned for another no mercy which they promised. It showed that Kenny omega and the bucks are as bad at creating video games as they are as wrestlers. Phony and full of entirely bravado. There’s no substance here. No season mode. No wrestlers. NO ENTRANCES!!!! There’s nothing here. Nothing and for Kenny to claim to be some giant fan, he loses the chance to every criticize a game ever again because he’s the worst. There’s no recovering. Forget match types, having a long term mode you can invest in like season mode or franchise mode and if you’re smart having those in addition to a story mode. Story mode only is a recipe for disaster. That’s far more important than adding things like cages on the huge list of things needing fixing

Its because of its amazing gameplay and insane match variety. Elimination chamber, 3 stages of hell, hell in a cell, tables, backstage brawls, cage, handicap, 1st blood, tlc, last man standing, elimination, tornado, ironman and most of these matches you can mix up to up to 6 players. Fact is that 2K24 Is releasing 5 DLC packs with 5 wrestlers in most of them. We are getting 24 DLC characters for $30 season Pass. One DLC character on AEW FF is $15, and yet the model isn't as polished or well made. If you downloaded the entire AEW FF roster as CAWs from CC on WWE 2K24, they would look better than the in-game models on AEW Fight Forever.

The things that will have me come back to this game is if they add 2v2 tornado, backstage brawl, steel cage, more than 4 wrestlers in 1 match, make the fighting in Stadium Stampede how it is in the main game, public lobbies online because I don't like that it searches an opponent that takes a long time and if they're not gonna do public lobbies then they need to at least make the online crossplay that way it will be easier and quicker to find players. If they added all of those things that I just mentioned then I bet a lot of people would come back to this game.

This game could have been saved. You made the no mans sky analogy in the video, but the way that game was handled was perfect. Disastrous launch, but the devs put the time and effort into free updates and built up goodwill amongst fans and are getting ready to launch their new game. Hell, at this point they could release paid DLC for No Mans Sky and people would but it because they see that the devs care. With Fight Forever theyve literally just chucked out DLC pack after DLC pack, expecting people to pay for a few extra roster members and whatnot to slightly enhance their experience when the overall experience isnt great to begin with. I liked fight forever, for a while, i got it half price on switch and to be fair i feel like i somewhat got my moneys worth. I got a fun little portable wrestling game. But thats more down to the switch. If i had bought it on PC or console i wouldnt be saying the same thing unfortunately. And thats the problem.

the fact they had exactly 8 pre-set faces for the male CAW and 4 for female ones on launch was a huge turn-off for me. The best thing about Fight Forever is that it made WWE 2K try harder, 2k24 looks truly amazing, and you can see they took a few things from FF, throwing weapons, the blood, the hard cam on the ramp... 2K took things above and beyond with 4 new match types, and several new small details that add a lot to the experience, they really put some hard work on this one to show how bad Fight Forever really is

"She's been doing her Timeless gimmick for nearly a year now" It started at the beginning of OCTOBER and her DLC was completed in November. She's a ridiculously overpriced DLC character (5 extra music packs makes her OVER double the price of Jamie Hayter for some reason) but I do think the outdated gimmick is understandable... I just don't know why they didn't include her new theme as one of the 10 music packs since we can customise entrances to have a black and white filter and give her a black attire.

I really wanted this game to work but just no coming back. Best thing AEW could do if they want to release games in future is to either put pressure on the dev to make the next game far better and cheaper from the base game or just change to a different company to make games for their brand But it’s just the overall problem with modern gaming, base games incomplete, bugs/glitches from the get-go, micro transactions etc. just takes the fun away. If I were everyone I’d just get a ps2/N64 from these retros game stores or online marketplaces and rebuild your collections of the games AEW was inspired by originally!!!

Putting pressure on the devs was half the problem. Kenny Omega was putting pressure on the devs since day one, and demanded mini-games and other things, rather than what the devs wanted to put in. It was so bad that reportedly one of Yukes guys jumped ship to Visual Concepts and helped develop the WWE 2K24 game instead, where they are left to develop, and WWE only tick off on things, rather than tell them how to do their jobs. You don't see Xavier Woods demanding Visual Concepts put things into games (except when he joked that they should have included him as a Cena rival in Showcase in 2K23). Let the cooks cook.

Like they had like 3 years to develop this game and it’s turned out so bad. I love this game but yeah even I get eventually bored because there's not much else to do. I welcome any new content, at least season 3 was cheaper than season 2, but I haven't paid for either of them yet because they don't seem worth the price tag. Idk, I still think people who say the game is bad are lowkey delusional but I've seen few games have a solid core be ruined by the quality and quantity of what's around it

Wait, so the base game is still $60+, and then another $70+ for all three DLC Season Passes? For a PS3 looking game with limited options and replay value? That's $20 more expensive than the highest tier of 2K24 editions available, and the amount of content you get for your money from 2K is exponentially better in terms of both quantity and quality.

I like AEW and I wanted it to do well. They dropped several balls. There was no reward for those that stuck with the game during the extended delay. The DLC format is a cash grab and the value is far too low. It would benefit from free DLC updates vs paid DLC small additions. I honestly think the best part of the game was that it gave the 2K staff some ideas to add to 2k24 like throwing weapons, more interaction with environments,and blood that stays on the mat. In 2024, Fight forever is too basic in comparison to what wwe is doing. The wwe games aren’t perfect but blow this out the water. Some of the Indy titles may as well.
