I was really excited when the game was first mentioned. But when they showcased it for the first time I’d became skeptical. I saw the graphics and obviously it isn’t the worst but for a new gen game and having a monitor that can run 4k I felt like they should have done more with it. What ending killing my deal to buy the game was when they mentioned that not everyone in the main roster would be available to play in the game and that there weren’t going to be full wrestler entrances. Ik people may be upset in what I said but I’m sorry I’m not dropping $70+ to buy a game that doesn’t look finished, doesn’t have the full AEW roster, & doesn’t have things like full entrances, GM Mode, etc.

I hadn't really seen any gameplay footage until now. This game really seems to be an updated No Mercy with better graphics. Some of the animations look identical to the ones from No Mercy, like swinging the pool cue or jumping over a downed opponent while running. It seriously seems like they completely recycled the game engine from No Mercy and put an AEW coat of paint on it.

the crazy thing about it is that the actual gameplay is really good, is it perfect no, the pin system sucks its outdated, and some animations need polish, but the main problem is the lack of content, lack of match types, the lack to make custom events, rivalries, win stipulations, ect. and what's really head scratching is that there are additional match types that are already in the game but in the BTE mode that aren't available to just play from the main menu, like multi person ladder matches and handicap matches, there is nothing to do, we have a lot of in game currency and nothing to spend it on, there were reports about the game being way over the 10 million dollar budget and i feels like it, it feels like the developers ran out of money and were rushed because the game feels incomplete, and a lot of us already feel like we paid $80 for a beta, and now the want us to pay a additional $25 per season, they have lost their minds.

AEW: Fight Forever sucked because no matter how many update patches the game would go through, the game would always be broken and unblanced, you could not max out your created wrestler's stats, the create-a-moveset option had it's limits, the online server would make your in-game wrestlers and created wrestlers float and teleport, the submission hold and pinfall systems sucked and the create-a-wrestler option didn't have enough creative content. I love AEW as a pro wrestling company, but their Fight Forever video game was nothing but trash. The game was rushed and it was never play-tested.

I think the first and foremost mistake of Yuke's and AEW Games was to play on the nostalgia of WWF No Mercy to begin with. This style of wrestling games just no longer fit people. Personally for me AEW Fight Forever is not instintual at all and I have played EVERY WWF/WWE game INCLUDING No Mercy and all SvR title. The style of WWE 2K is the right direction right now. And looking at how many problems Fight Forever had at launch makes me think that MAYBE Visual Concepts was not the problem when it comes to 2K20 (which strangely I still enjoyed)

I used to do focus groups in the mid 2000s for Sony HQ, Sega HQ, & then maybe some random Xbox games cuz I wasn't near Washington. I remember the time during a focus group, my group was asked about "maybe" paying "$1 or $2" in order to get, essentially what would now be a $50 battlepass or whatever. I saw what the companies were planning from a mile away & agressively said it would be an insult to make me pay for a game I already purchased. While every single other person of the 10 or 12 person focus group was, like, "i can haz halo mapz?!" I wish I could go back in time & shake the shit out of the people in that room, that I swear to God were rating a "10/10 would pay for extra content".

They failed by not using the game to tell the history of the territories and to bring up to speed the long term storytelling of rivalries that each character brings. I'm a huge fan of Kenny, but if Kenny was the Lead Developer of this game, than its on Kenny Omega for this disaster. He said he wanted to make it like a super smash bros, Def Jam, NO MERCY and to make a wrestling game for gamers. and that he would get people from the original no mercy wwf to work on it. That was the immediate red flag i had, of course i trusted kenny would be able to find a balance, but NO MERCY . It's been 20 years thats not the flagship game thats needed for a start up wrestling company unless your CZW. I also lost hope when they wanted DLC everything. AEW 2023 video game should have been a joint venture between New Japan, AAA & AEW. AEW vs New Japan vs ROH vs AAA all funding a game together. But Tony is too greedy. Tony, Yukes, Kenny failed this game and the gamers.

I'm all for thr season pass concept, as long as its value for money. If FF's season passes had as much content as 2k's then it would be fine. 2k's goes beyond just the wrestlers. Its AEWs first console video game. Back in the day none of WWF's video games were major. They were ok, had their flaws, and people got by playing em among other things. Of course now times have changed. people have so much expectations or they will just shit all over it till the end of time. Its a shame if you ask me. I think back about games that i played earlier in my lifetime like WWF Warzone, and Attitude and see the progress. AEW needs that same patience. They atleast have a great idea that they can work with having that Aki system that many still call the best ever. They just need more time to put a modern twist on it. Work out the kinks, and figure out how to improve on other things like Create a Wrestler Mode. Find ways to make their game stand out as their own and theyll be just fine.

I really like aewff but my issue with it is that it gets boring after awhile. It was a great foundation for what can be a great arcade game. Definitely build off what we have. Stadium stampede was boring imo it felt clunky compared to the regular gameplay. Game modes leave much to be desired. And my biggest issue with the game is the creation suite. Having to play road to elite for every caw to get there stats higher is tedious and it lacks creation options

I believe I kept up with all the news & even before the game got released I was thinking about buying it up until I read nothing but backlash after backlash. I understand that is similar to movie reviews and you can't judge until you see a movie or in this case play the game yourself. But after months of backlash and all. I can't buy this game unless it was on sale for maybe $10 bucks, even then I might not bother with it. I don't know what THQ & Kenny Omega was thinking, but somewhere along the line something got missed big time. I understand they wanted a No Mercy game play feel to the game and tons of other things but that's nearly impossible on today's gaming consoles. More so you are talking about a game that came out more than 10 years ago. If THQ wanted to profit off their losses then they need to mark down their DLC & game big time in order to get more people interested in thinking about buying but I highly doubt that will happen. At the end of the day, they need to call it a lost and move on. Maybe AEW needs to get a different gaming company to make their wrestling games, I am not sure if that's going to happen or not.

The problem is that Cyberpunk and No Man's Sky were both made by companies that actually give a damn about games and about their company reputations. CD Projekt Red were embarrassed by the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 after their previous spotless record with the Witcher series, and Hello Games saw No Man's Sky's status as a matter of survival, this being their first major release. Fight Forever, like AEW itself, is a vanity project for Tony, and a chance to milk the money mark by the talent. It's clear that Yuke's is more interested in other endeavors than wrestling games (can't really blame them after making WWE games for so damn long), and the lack of love shows in AEW Fight Forever.

We shouldve seen this coming when aew games first started. They already released 2 massive flops before this game, the abysmal elite gm and the awful casino game, and fans were unhappy then. This will be the final nail in the coffin for aew games and by next year aew games will no longer be a thing.

I bought the Elite Edition of the game via Black Friday sale yesterday. I am pleased with my purchase. I agree that the DLC prices have been absurd though.

I wanted to download this on switch yesterday and it was on sale...sale for 41 bucks. I would pay 25 for it. No way i would pay 40. But i really do want to play it. Guess I'll just fire up my N64 to get my fix

It's like, I really want to buy Season 2 Pass so I can add more to my game... But I definitely don't wanna support that kind of move. Please, nobody buy Season 2! Instead, we need to make a big enough fuss in hopes that they change the price or kill their own game.

I think the problem is that they announced the game to early. To having delay after delay and then releasing a game in year where gaming are very stacked. I mean when you released your game in the year when Spiderman 2, Legend of Zelda: Tears of the kingdom, street fight 6, Re4 Remake, Dead space Remake, and that just few that gamers are going buy. Then the whole only fans that are going buy it are hardcore wrestling fans. The problem too is that you try compare your game against your rival and they more content then you. Then you try to over charge your dlc. The people who brought and try defend are now ignoring it and leaving it. I mean I had one friend who was super hype for this game. But if I meantioned how the game is and give me a meh answer. That kinda tells me all I need to know. When super hype fan stop caring for your game then game is at best mid.

Wanted this game ever since it had been announced in 2020. I haven't been able to purchase it, due to circumstances. But I keep hearing nothing but bad reviews. Disappointed in what I'm hearing, Yuke's! You've been in the business of wrestling games for a long time! There's no excuse for less than top tier gaming content.

I own the game haven't played it much since Aug. don't hate it but don't enjoy it as much as any of the WWE games Smackdown-WWE 2K23 or The Wrestle Kingdom Games Def Jam Vendetta or Legends of Wrestling 2 or the AKI games on N64 or King of the Coliseum but it's better than TNA Impact Backyard Wrestling Rumble Roses and WCW Backstage Assault thos ECW PS1 games were the sh*it's also...So IMO AEW FF is okay the overpriced (weak) DLC not okay but...Sting Owen Hart Paul Wight is in the game which is awesome not to mention CM Punk Kenny Omega FTE Adam Page Jon Moxley Miro Thunder Rosa among many more so the roster is good.

I won’t buy this game unless it dips below 30$. To this day even with “Black Friday” deals. They stil have only dropped the game down to 41$ on Xbox 1. Yukes and AEW are just delusional about this game.
