That arcade pick-up-and-play style of wrestling videos games of old has finally returned with AEW Fight Forever - and while what is here certainly isn't perfect by any means - it's definitely fun and a great starting point to work from for the future.
A roster of 55+ characters, multiple attires to choose from, 7 arenas as well as Ladder matches, Casino Battle Royales, Exploding Barbed Wire Death matches, crazy mini games and a single player Road To Elite career mode, there's bound to be something here for everyone to enjoy.

AKI N64 games weren't arcade at ALL. Yukes Smackdown games were, but not World Tour to No Mercy. This game isn't worth $60 in it's current state and I knew Kenny talking about bringing No Mercy's director on was just a boondoggle.

The gameplay is great. Yea, it's lacking in other areas but it's a great base to grow from. Kenny loves Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 and had Geta on board before anyone else and Geta was asked how he would design different mechanics. I don't feel it was a trick. Shunsuke Katsumata and Daichi Takeuchi were also on board.

@@EasyE3939 I just don't see it. From the gameplay that I watched it looks like the Smackdown PS1 games and not the AKI N64 games. Saw a specific spot where Kenny body slammed Darby and Darby almost instantaneously popped up to his feet. That isn't AKI inspired gameplay in the least.

@@msu15 yeah I totally agree, the gameplay however is fully there. If you're buying alone just for the N64 gameplay you won't be disappointed at all. It's a more upgraded aki style with separate punch and kick buttons, so now you have throw, punch and kick grabs dedicated. There is over 50 different attribute powers for a wrestler from Big Man to Big Wall. Every wrestler feels great.

Not worth 60 dollars for a live service game. 4 years in development, and we have to hope for 'updates.' It's not up for the consumers to wait for updates for a game to be good.

It wasn't in development for four years. They first showed proof of concept in November 2020 with a CGI trailer. AEW had only been around for like year itself. TNA didn't have toys for seven years. Companies like ROH was backed by Sinclair and didn't even humor making a game. Impact has Anthem and still wanted Virtual Basement to make The Wrestling Code suddenly into an Impact game for basically free- just waving the licensing fee of a license that isn't worth jack. Even so the average time for making a game is 18 months to 3 years anyway so 4 years isn't that long either. You really come off as inpatient and entitled.

@@EasyE3939 what do you think how long a proof of concept takes? And yukes revealed they were working on a new wrestling game in 2019. How is it "entitled" for expecting a game to not be bare bones upon release and making it pay to win with a battle Royale mode and having multiple season pass dlcs to make up for the lack of customization, lack of match types that is heavily promoted in aew like 6 man tag or tag team ladder matches.

Definitely not worth it RIGHT NOW, before several updates. Very short and dumb career mode, broken pinning system that makes every match way too short, obvious lack of match types (no cage matches, no backstage areas, no 3 vs 3, no multiple men ladder matches, only 4 people in the ring max, no guest referee, and on and on), super limited create-a-wrestler, several key wrestlers missing.....it's definitely not worth $60 and it needs a lot of updates/patches/additions, it's an unfinished game.

I had the same issue, the game is lots of fun to me but the career mode is lame as fuck and the lacks of match types bothered me.

The carrer mode needs updates and to just make it a carbon copy of here comes rhe pain woild fix most of its problems. Let us pik roster with two shows .let u then pick Champs and have a reputation system where you can ask for title shots.

​@@wingedhussar1453What would a carbon copy of HCTP entail? This is a game based on the lore and short history of AEW and it's first few years where there were four major PPVs where Road to Elite has four blocks representing the build up to those PPVs.
