You have to realize that AEW only has something like 30% the total viewership across all shows as WWE has. The overwhelming majority of the viewers have absolutely no clue who the Lucha Bros and other AEW talent are. Most WWE fans had no clue that CM Punk returned before he came back to WWE. The majority of viewers thought that was his return to wrestling and that's why they can get away with constantly saying he was away from wrestling for longer than he was and nobody questions it.

Losing the Lucha Bros is going to be a high loss for AEW. While their style is a bit reckless and dangerous they are one of the most popular tag teams on the roster and AEW Originals. This is going to hurt AEW's already stagnated tag division as well. I'm curious how much of their style they would have to change in AEW. the problem with this will be they will be stuck in with some Rey Mysterio angle and become just another lucha on the roster, which is a massive problem for any wrestler and for the *casual fan* is why people don't care or know who the "Solo Faction" from the bloodline ATM cos to them its just another Samoan each week, and i am a fan of Solo from NXT and the other guys from stuff ive seen over the years, but to my friends who watch the *mainstream content on WWE* are just not interested in that as they want to see what has been pushed and promoted on various platforms, they want and but merch from the John Cena and CM punk types, and if the talents set on been a Lucha is just a "oh its just another Rey Mysterio clone" to them, while if they are watching AEW/RoH/NXT they are like WHO is this Wrestler? They should have had much bigger runs while they were there - Penta should have been at least TNT Champion if not one of the mainstays of the main event scene (preferably as a heel). There's nothing left for them to achieve in AEW and them leaving gives more space for homegrown teams like Private Party, Top Flight and The Gunns to step up.
