I’m as skeptical of Velveteen Dream as anyone else is, but whenever you bring up the talking to minors part, I feel like it should always be important to note it was never proven even with an investigation. Does it mean he’s for sure not guilty and should be brought back? No. But these are *very* serious allegations and it feels wrong to paint him in that picture if it was never actually proven.

For a minor clarification, Mark does start by saying "If I were a girl, and I was in that match..." before continuing. I think it's irrelevant to bring it up, given his old school tenure. I can get giving Dream a second chance, but I won't blame WWE/AEW for not taking that risk.

If you really want a second chance, prove it. Start at the bottom again, prove it by rebuilding your image & then we'll see. Back when AEW first started in 2019 and around the first year, the talents I was looking out for was Darby Allin, MJF, Max Caster, Sammy Guevara, Ricky Starks, Velveteen Dream, LA Knight and Cameron Grimes. There are a few that were obviously going to be stars like Adam Cole, but when AEW first got going, these were the talents I had my eye on. Darby and Cody going to a tie, a nobody? Against the industries sweetheart? Cody put Darby on the map, but DARBY got Darby over. He put his body and his soul on the line out there, and it's paid off. MJF seemed to overplay the heel schtick at first, like it was obviously a work. But he's just so good at it, everyone knew he was going to be more than Cody's lackey. Max Caster, when I seen him during the Battle Royale, this guy just reminded me of early Ron Simmons. Plus his charisma just carries this guy, he's got the flair to be a star. I didn't think Anthony Bowens was anything special at first because he looks so normal. Like a create a character before you actually do any creating. Glad I was wrong about Bowens. And Ricky Starks, this guy was it. I was so hyped when he was teased for Cody's TNT Open Challenge because I seen him in NWA and he's just good. He gets the business and if given the chance, he could be like LA Knight. Sammy Guevara, this guy hasn't really broken any ground yet. He's basically ridden Jerichos wave ever since Cody signed this man and gave him his first opportunity, Sammy was a Cody guy before Jericho snatched him and took all the credit. But Sammy reminded me of a young Eddie Guerrero back in the WCW days, he just moves so fluidly and he had that charisma about him. But his attitude nowadays is holding him back, he's just hard headed and doesn't like being directed in any form or fashion.

It sounded like Mark was reacting to the rumors that Clark secretly video-recorded other men in the bathroom of a party that EC3 attended, and would in turn publicly accuse Clark. Not sure he even remembers the original accusations of grooming minors, or it could be he is dismissing them given the internal investigation at the time reported no clear issues. I agree that people deserve second chances, but given what he was accused of, is that the kind of thing you want to risk happening again under your watch?

Dream was 20 years old, communicating with a 16 year old who wanted to be a wrestler. There was no evidence that anything wrong happened, even confirmed by the WWE. I don’t think people deserve to have their livelihood and sanity taken away from something like that. I think his mistake was not being aware that he can move the same way at his height of popularity at NXT. The accusations were made from someone in Canada while the situation was in Florida. You gotta do your own research with proper discernment. Trust me I don’t defend pedophiles. However he isn’t, and his life was ruined by someone who wanted to cut his career short.

Do we really need Dream in AEW? The answer is no.
@High2GetBy

I thought he recorded fellow wrestlers but now I'm only after finding out that Dream was texting minors! I don't think he should be given a second chance. I have a lot of empathy and it actually goes against me a lot in life but any stuff to do with minors you are done you are dead to me. I see a lot of weird stuff being normalised these days and I just hope we all know anything to do with kids can never be forgotten or forgiven.

Did you ever read the text messages? You seem to not have an understanding of the situation. No, simply texting kids is not evil, hurtful, or bad.

Edit: For clarification. I'm only agree with the 2nd chance part. The sexuailty comment from Mark was incorrect nor was it even an issue. I don't know how he jump to that conclusion, but someone should inform him why Patrick got canceled in the 1st place. He has a point. Plus I haven't heard anything controversial from Patrick so far. Im not saying he should return to big companies this year, but maybe the next (if nothing bad happens with him.) I say give him a second look.
