I like the zoom ring, it feels quite nice and has a relatively constant resistance, but when I autofocus, I use the most front part of the lens, to front barrel, it's far smoother than the physical focus ring. And with the barrel, I can use the forward and backward movements to my advantage.

G.Vamsi Krishna Goud , go for the 70-300 blindly. It does not only give u more magnification but it’s much ,much clearer than the 55-200. I got it about an year ago.

Yes, but remember the price which is not huge! It's made to be more affordable, it's kit lens. Still can get decent shots.

the auto focus speed on this lens is slow as shyt. its not quick, it does take nice clean shots, but i wouldnt dare try any action shots with this lens. i hooked it up do my d500 and did some bird chasing, and immediately took if off and switched to my tamron 18-400mm. the 55-300 is good for stills, do not get this lens for action.

Kura Abella okay so I did a quick research and have seen that that 18-300 is pretty decent , But, the 18-200 is just as good , just as fast , and costs only $200 . I already have the tamron 18-400 but it’s not as sharp but I already have the 300mm+ distance and I would consider the 18-200. I’ll see if I can find it used at KEH . Thanks for the tip !
