Melvin to this day was one of the most physically gifted lightweights ever, put mentally never got it together. He had a great run from 2010 to mid 2011 with a title shot within his grasp, he lost to Joe Lauzon and never found consistency in his career ever again.

@closinginonclosure 4 жыл бұрын
@@thisrichbastard.809 Yes, obviously he has coaches. But coaches only really matter if you put in the work and are ambitious, confident, and driven. The best coaches in the world can't turn someone into a champion if they aren't those things. Coaches are drivers in a sense. Take the best car in the world and a shit driver, and the car can't reach its potential. Take the best driver and a shit car, and the car will limit the driver. Take a high performance car and put a world class driver in the seat and you have a winning combination.

I REALLY hope this is the last fight for Melvin Guillard. I admire his tenacity but the guy hasn't had a win in almost 4 years. Hopefully, this complete domination is the rude awakening he needed to throw in the towel and start putting his health first while he still can. Got to meet him in person once while he was in WSOF and won his fight. He was cool and friendly, so I really want to see someone with that kind demeanor to be less reckless with his well-being and retire with pride.
