Strictly based on this fight though, I thought he did well, especially against Page, who's a pretty unique fighter. He was completely neutralized by Page when he had him on the ground, so that wasn't that impressive, but he seemed to keep his composure. As far as the two punches after the fight are concerned, that seems a ridiculous thing to say. You fight until the ref separates you, especially a bang bang situation like that. Page wasn't laying on the ground for 30 seconds and then Lima decided to start hitting him again. Those hammer fists came down within a second of Page falling. Any fighter would've done the same thing. There've been a lot of fights I've seen that had a knockout followed by two hammer fists (McGregor vs Aldo, Holmes vs Rousey, etc.) The interview after was what struck me mostly. I thought he presented himself thoughtfully, respectful of the other fighters and the sport, and with a lot of class.

Maershkin Schrabs Douglas Lima is one of the best welterweights in the world. He would absolutely be among the top 10 or top 5 in the UFC. Bellator still has some gimmicks in their roster but there is also serious talent there.

I can go watch a bar fight and it can be more satisfying than watching a ufc fight. But it doesn't mean it's better. Mvp is a 1 dimensional fighter. People were debating who has the better flashy black sticker. The ufc with Israel. Or bellator with mvp. Israel is better. 90% of the Bellator roster is ufc rejects or fighters not good enough for the ufc.
