@ People literally said that Nigeria wouldn't make it past the group stage and they ended up making it to the finals. Tunisia is the only country in that group I could see that'll give Nigeria a hard time ESPECIALLY with the new coach dynamic. But Nigeria will most definitely make it past. Including Tunisia. The group people should be looking out for is Group A and E. I don't see Morocco and Algeria making it out of this one ngl. They could shock me.. But after last year's AFCON 😬 idk. With Sudan and Guinea DESTROYING teams, and Mali and Zambia (especially them) doing a madness. It's two VERY VERY tough groups. People will obviously pick Morocco and Algeria to make it through cause of the players they have. Mind you. A team with back-to-back African player of the year lost drew to Losothwo. They ain't even in. The comp. Even Senegal. They lost to DRC last year. Who even knew they existed. Just letting oyu lot know that African football IS FAR MORE different than European football. It doesn't matter the players yoy have it's about HOW you play.

I’m Algerian and I couldn’t agree more. I think Algeria 🇩🇿 has a tough group ahead of them. Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 has always been a dark horse and always plays competitively against Algeria. Equatorial Guinea 🇬🇶 always exceeds expectations in Afcon. Also, they ended Algeria’s 35 game unbeaten record in Afcon 2021. Sudan 🇸🇩 has been playing amazing football lately. They are definitely another dark horse and I could definitely see them advancing from this group too. My prediction from group E are Algeria 🇩🇿 and Sudan 🇸🇩 to advance to the next round, God willing.

@ezraezra2928Күн бұрын
AFCON is full of big surprises. Group B of this edition might be the potential sources of the upset. The most successful AFCON team Egypt pairing with South Africa (3rd place in the last AFCON) and Angola (quarterfinalist in the last AFCON) might be the biggest challenge for North African country. South Africa's goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, was phenomenal during the last AFCON, including 4 penalty saves against Cape Verde. That could be a big problem to the Egyptians. Also, it was South Africa that had actually beat Egypt in the 2019 edition, when Egypt was hosting the tournament. A big reminder: The last 3 editions where AFCON was held in North Africa, North African teams had always been the winner, with Tunisia and Egypt even achieving this feat when they were the hosts in 2004 and 2006 respectively, while Algeria had actually won the 2019 edition held in Egypt. Unfortunately, this is going to be a double-edged swords for them, especially when you see the fact none of the North African teams had ever managed to reach the quarterfinals in the last AFCON, and, for the case of Morocco, they didn't win the previous tournament they hosted in 1988 (it was Cameroon).

I just want to point out one thing, the teams that did well in the last afcon, doesn't mean they will play well this afcon usually when the afcon is hosted in north africa , a north african wins it , and when it is in west africa , teams like algeria and morocco struggle, this is what history proves , 2004 2006 2019 etc so i think tunisia, algeria and egypt will have a slight advantage over the other teams, for exp sundowns one of the best teams in africa, and most of its players are part of the south african national team , but they never won in morocco over a moroccan team , the best they could do was a draw, even when they were the better team , they just struggle to adapt somehow
@jonjones3841Күн бұрын
I disagree. Only the hosts have the advantage. Egypt usually flops when the tournament is in North Africa expect when they host it. Tunisia is so so. Algeria may do well but their group is tough and they have a history of being grouped. I think Nigeria and Cameroon will make a deep run. They always do well in North African AFCONS

@@aobakweCup326D Egypt won 7 or 8 times I am not sure anymore but do you think winning that much doesn’t make them by far the best out of the group because they from North Africa are known to play against southern African countries. South Africa doesn’t have any strong football identify ever. Morocco went to the semi finals my friend of the World Cup scored many goals and plays easily with the top 10 countries nobody can say this in Africa. But let’s keep the discussion about Egypt. They are whether you like it or not always by far the favorite in a group stage!
@peacenation9338Күн бұрын
If the South African team stays together. No coaching changes and all their top players healthy again, I think they can go to the final this time around. They are still a relatively unknown team on the continent with over 90% of the squad playing locally. This bodes well for them. ONLY if the federation doesn’t score an own goal and fire the coach. Politics has a way of trickling into our beloved sport unfortunately.
