Maybe the real friends I made along the way were these keyboard shortcuts. Thanks for this tutorial! Really clear and concise, exactly what I was looking for! ETA: I've been really enjoying using Affinity Designer, and I'm really grateful you've taken your time to create these videos.

This is where Illustrator beats Designer hands down. This is just so easy to do in Illustrator. Thanks anyway...

I find your tutorials to be superior! My illustrations use a thick/thin element that was difficult to control in Adobe Illustrator. This is extremely invaluable to me. I ha e to listen more carefully because of your accent, but that is fine. Thank you for doing a marvelous job! Affinity Designer is great people!

Thanks Andre for your comment. It's great to know it helped you. If in doubt just ask me here. There's also less accent when I write hahaha ;)

As always another great video! I love this effect, on your first one did you do it one long word? Cause you have the crack going through both BRO and KEN. I have tried but don't know how you made the crack through both BRO and KEN please help.

Thanks Diane! - The procedure is exactly the same. Look at this, maybe you see it clearer: imgur.com/a/f0EmHf3

Thanks for this, Isabel! :) Question - with your example (the one on the right), I saw that you had a crack leading from top piece down through the second piece (to form a bit of a triangle). Is that hard to do?
@TedMattos3 жыл бұрын
Ah! I see you answer the question in an earlier comment. :) Never mind! LOL
@isabel_aracama3 жыл бұрын
Hi Ted. No, not at all. It's all about using paths and masking and separating the bits of the text so I can move things as I need to. Think of it as 3 pieces of the text that I put then together.

In this tutorial I show you how to create a simple broken text effect in Affinity Designer using clipping masks.

Oh, thanks MsPennyDrop - I always think it sounds terrible when I hear myself. But they say it happens to us all.
